Music is a huge part of my life too, Pamela. I play guitar, piano, mandolin, and flute.

YES!! I looove George Strait and have ever since I heard him for the first time in the early 1980's!!! He's handsome, too!!! I also like Johnny Cash and I like Alan Jackson. My dad loved Alan's singing. I think Hank Williams was a musical genius...so tragic that he died so young. He was a great songwriter. I saw Hank Williams, Jr. in concert, but he is certainly not his father...he was so rude and obnoxious that many people walked out of his show before it was over. I don't think Patsy Cline ever recorded a bad song. Her voice was hauntingly beautiful!

I forgot to say that I sang on stage at the Ryman Auditorium, the original Opry! When I was in Nashville, the Opry had already moved to the new location, but we toured the old Ryman and we were allowed to sing on stage if we wanted to. I jumped at the chance! I met Johnny Cash's mother on my first Nashville trip in the late 1970's. She was very nice! Loretta Lynn is also very nice. I met Mickey Gilley during the Urban Cowboy craze and he asked me if I "could give an old man a kiss." So I did! He was very sweet!I got to meet many country singers years ago at the Valley Forge Music Fair. Emmylou Harris invited me onto her bus after her show and she was very nice. I had lots of fun in the good old days and haven't thought much about it until right now. I got to know Johnny Lee when the Urban Cowboy craze was big. For the longest time, he sent me Christmas cards and birthday cards every year and even sent some postcards to me throughout the year. It's so sad that his life changed so much in later years. He lost a son to drug abuse and now he has Parkinson's disease.

Yes, those antlers are enormous. I would think they'd have an awful headache! A friend of ours had just a small moose antler several years ago and when I picked it up I was shocked at how heavy it was! And what's even more amazing is that the woods here in Maine are THICK! The trees are small but they grow very close together, sometimes it's even difficult for me to squeeze through! Thoreau remarked on that too.

So many of the early country stars had tragic deaths. They died young, too. Imagine how much we've all missed because their lives were cut short. Very sad.
