I have thought of you as Meg
that is more like Jo March for
the same reasons you mentioned.
I was more surprised that you had
read an Austen novel.
Pammy and I could sit and talk about
her world for hours over pots of tea,
you may politely join us until you see
a moose, then run after it.

Hahahaha!!! I think I'm kinda a blend of Meg, Jo, and Beth! Never could relate to Amy at all. π Yes, I've read Mansfield Park and Sense and Sensibility!
I will listen politely, but could you have a pitcher of water there for me to drink? ππ

What do you play?"
For this practice I played violin, but I also play piano, harp and recorders. I'm trying to learn harmonica.

Oh, Felix is great! Although I'm not sure Felix really is a Felix. He could be a Greta! How's your bunny?

Oh, Felix is great! Although I'm not sure Felix really is a Felix. He could be a Greta! How's your bunny?"
Oh dear! You might want to find that one out soon!
Georgiana's doing fantastic! But she was wondering how your tarantula is?

Oh, the tarantula is doing well, but he keeps scaring the dogs. They don't like hairy bugs crawling on them!

Oh, the tarantula is doing well, but he keeps scaring the dogs. They don't like hairy bugs crawling on them!"
Oh I can imagine! Though you should really tell them, tarantulas are harmless, they won't bother your dogs!

Felicia is a little under the weather, I think she's got chicken pox.
How's Marvin doing these days? Still have that awful limp?

I've tried, but do you know what they tell me?!

I can't imagine! What?

It could be! I wonder how much calcium tarantulas contain? Not that I'm considering it, of course! By the way, how is your goat's leg doing?

Of course not!
Oh, it's getting by... It's not very strong, maybe I should feed it tarantulas! How's that stubborn giraffe of yours?

I play piano and guitar. Harp music is beautiful! I can't play, though. I'm quite impressed that you can! My best musical talent is singing. I took voice instruction many years ago. I love to sing!π΅π€πΆ

Hi Pammy,
What kind do you like to sing and
play?

What's up with eating tarantulas??!! Yuck-A-Doo!!! It's good that I already ate supper! π€’πΎπ

Oh, poor thing! I wouldn't do that to it, though! It would be animal abuse!
Oh, stubborn as ever! You know, I couldn't get her to stand up this morning?! I was going to ride her to work, but she REFUSED to let me! Can you beat that?!

Pammy Jo"
Oh, I love singing, too, Pammy Jo! I took lessons for a couple of years over Skype with a blind woman who lived in Ireland. She has since gone to become a nun in a Georgian monastery in North Carolina, I think. I miss that so much! What range do you sing?

I don't know, having already eaten, you might lose your supper! LOL! I was just thinking, I can't imagine what everyone's thinking, walking into this room!!!

Oh, yes, you're right! What was I thinking?!
Give her some pizza, it ALWAYS works with my giraffe. They just can't resist it!
Actually, I CAN beat that! My panda wouldn't go to sleep last night!! I sang her every song I could think of, I rocked her for 3 hours, I put her in MY bed, but NOTHING would work!!!

OOOOHHH! That's a good idea! Why didn't I think of that?! Maybe the same method would work on your panda? Though I don't know, it might give her heartburn?

Yeah, maybe it would! Oh, Fiona never gets heartburn. So I think she'd be okay. Doesn't Zimbaque get heartburn a lot?

Oh, that's good!
Yes, poor dear, he does. I've heard that a cold compress works well for that, but who could put one on a gorilla?!

Oh, I nearly died of fright! Yes, I think he does need a new home, but where? No one I asked seemed to want him!

I am sorry to be chiming in so much later on your question of the films of Little Women. I haven't been able to be on as much. We should be settling soon, and then I will be able to keep up with my reading and my groups.
I agree with Meg on the 1949 version, but I will also add that there is a version with Susan Dey and Eve Plumb in it that is wonderfully close to the book. There are a few scenes that are not quite what I wish they were, but I do find that it is a good version. I always prefer the movies that are closest to the book. I was disappointed by the scene after Beth's passing in this version. That one is better in the 1949 I believe. To be honest, I can't remember which movie had my favorite scene of Beth's passing. It is a very emotional part of the book, maybe a movie just can't do it justice.
What is funny in many of the movie adaptations is that I will watch several of the versions. Then I will say, "Oh that is how I see so and so, and this is how I see this person. Oh if we could only take each character from each film and put them together we would have a perfect film." It is probably a good thing that I am not in the film industry. My films would never be released.

Oh, that's good!

I have a friend who's been wanting a gorilla, so I'll ask her for you. In the meantime, we HAVE to do something about Gesella!!

Great!
Oh, what's wrong with Gesella?

Great!
Oh, what's wrong with Gesella?"
She's a little... Oh you know....π΅

Are you calling my Grizzly crazy?!"
π³ Yes, I am. But maybe he just doesn't like me.... After all... I did give him...*coffee*

Well, and I wouldn't blame him! Coffee is a cruel and unusual punishment to inflict upon a grizzly!
I have to go feed the menagerie, but I'll tell you what, we can continue this discussion when I get back. I think I should still be alive, as long as I don't give Gesella any coffee!

Oh no! I hope I didn't injure his belly!!
Okay, do tell them I said hi! And be careful around your Gesella!!

Okay, do tell them I said hi! And be careful around your Gesella!!"
Injure a Grizzly's belly?! Impossible. I think you just hurt his feelings, but he'll live. I will! π

I am so sorry to hear about your dear cat. It is such a sad thing to lose an animal that way. I lost my favorite dog that same way, and I still miss him.

Thank you, Jasmine. It's very hard. That must've been horrible to lose a dog that way!

Don't let anyone tell you that it is crazy to feel so sad over the loss of your pets. It hurts so very much. Pets give so much to our lives.

I like almost all music prior to about 1980, but my favorites, as far as singing would be Judy Garland, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Paige and Patsy Cline. I also like folk music and love to sing Joan Baez songs, Emmylou Harris, Judy Collins, etc. One of my favorite songs is "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?"Singing hymns is nice, too. I really love Amy Grant's songs. Don't tell, but I also love Willie Nelson! He wrote some beautiful music such as Patsy Cline's "Crazy." I saw him in concert and really enjoyed it! I like Bob Dylan's music, too. Classic country is good, but I don't like a lot of the new songs. I've been to Nashville several times and went to the Grand Ole Opry a few times. That was great!
My high school music teacher always called me their resident Karen Carpenter sound-alike, so I have a slightly deep singing voice, but can hit the high notes, too. The Polish side of my family is very musically talented. My cousin Bobby plays sax and has toured with Stevie Wonder, Liza Minelli, Steve Miller and even Madonna (I'm not a fan of hers). His brother Ray plays piano at the casinos in Atlantic City and does most of the arranging for the String Bands in the Philly Mummer's Parade, which has sadly been cancelled already b/c of the covid virus. Ray is a great accordian player, too! I love accordian music...it's the Polish blood in me, I guess.
Gee, this got rather lengthy, but music is a big part of my life.
