Soooo cute! That's a nice way to start the day! So true, too! My cats always know what's going on! They are both wound up this morning. At 4:30 a.m. some man was speeding in his car, lost control, and hit 4 of our neighbor's cars across the street. They always park out front, not out back in their garages. The sound of the crash was terrible and my cats were terrified! It woke everybody up! The PA State Police were here, as well as a large rollback. The police had to sweep up the debris and put oil-dry on all of the fluid leaks. They just got it all cleaned up at 7:00 a.m.! There were no injuries, except to my cats' nerves! The neighbors are still home, so I don't think any of them are going to work today. It's been quite a morning, and the day is young! It appears that 2021 is off to a rip-roaring start!😱

Oh no!!! 😳 I'm glad no one was hurt, anyway! What a thing to wake up to!

message 5107: by Pamela (new)

Pamela | 2209 comments It surely DID wake us up. Poor Sarah jumped up out of her bed, fled to the kitchen and jumped on the table...fluffed up like a Halloween cat. Clara ran under a chair and wouldn't come out! If things keep going like this around here, I'm going to flee, too! At the moment, I feel like getting in my car and driving as far as the gas tank allows! I figure that would be about 400 miles! I think that could get me just across the Canadian border.πŸ‘πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‘πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‘ Bye-bye United States! πŸ‘‹πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

message 5108: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Oh my! Poor kitties! Our cats will do that too if there's an loud noise. A friend was putting in new plumbing a month or so ago and the poor things looked like they thought a monster was about to appear through the floor! 🀣

The problem with Canada is they won't let you in...I'd say just come here because we're only 10 miles from the border, but it's more than 400 miles... πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‚

Pamela | 2209 comments Good morning! I just checked our local forecast and we are supposed to have nice weather the entire upcoming week! πŸ‘
I am so thankful! It will be the first stretch of good weather we've had here in months! No snow shoveling, flooding rains or damaging winds! Feeling grateful! πŸ™

Praying all is well with everyone! πŸ€—

Sorry I just saw this, Pammy Jo! That is wonderful! πŸ€— I'm also very thankful we're having such a mild winter. There are rumors that the polar vortex is on the way, but the 10 days forecast doesn't show anything colder than highs in the teens so far!

Joanna I walked into the library about 4:30 this afternoon, and a guy who works there (who, by-the-bye, has blue hair! 😳) greeted me with a perfectly straight face and a "Good morning!" Without thinking, I wished him a good morning too! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£

Daniel Boone was born about 45 minutes from where I live. His homestead is an interesting place to visit. Sadly, it is currently closed because of Covid.

Pamela | 2209 comments President Calvin Coolidge was very shy. I Have always enjoyed this bit of trivia....

Fun Fact:Β Calvin Coolidge, a president of few words, was so famous for saying so little that a White House dinner guest made a bet that she could get the president to say more than two words. She told the president of her wager. His reply: "You lose."

Al (retreadmaj) | 84 comments So something odd is going on.... Over the last few months, I have been getting notifications that my reviews are being followed. The account is always female, no friends, hardly any books, a borderline inappropriate picture, and a foreign web address in the profile. I delete these accounts from my followers list, but they still pop up. Has anyone else run into this???

Ugh...I've heard from others who've had the same problem. I set my account to private so people can't just follow me anymore.

I've had it happen several times in recent months. I set my account settings to "Private." Even after doing that, I received a "friend request" two days ago from a woman who has no books listed and only has one friend, plus an inappropriate photo. I just ignore the requests that seem a bit "off" or strange in some way.
