Has anyone ever done a Read-a-thon?

I've done a few and they're such a blast! The one I've participated in, Dewey's Read-a-Thon, hosts two events a year. There's one in late April and one in late October. Since we'll all be doing the challenge this year (the April one takes place during Week 17/A Book Recommended by a Friend), I wondered if anyone else was interested in joining in. It is 24 hours of rollicking good reading time and book related merriment. But it is always more fun when you've got others to cheer on, discuss with, etc.

I was actually considering hosting one for our group here. I've heard about them. I'll look into it!! :)

I may consider doing one in the summer or close to it. That way people can catch up. Like a Reading Group Midterm. :P

Well, whether we have one in the summer or not, if you get the chance to participate in the April one hosted by Dewey's, I really urge anyone interested to give it a go. There are tons of games and challenges, there are prizes, Twitter chats, etc. It is such a fun time and you get so much reading in!

Is it funny that I would want to take the whole day off from work just so I could participate? LOL!

Haha I would so do it! Sometimes instead of a sick day we just need a "mental health" day!!

I found about one of these too late in the year to do this year and I was hoping I could find another one to take part in.

It's a little bit tricky for me because I don't have internet access at home but I would love to have a go.
