I read this long time ago and can't remember it's name. It's a three-book fantasy adventure novel about this kid who pays and hussles his way into magic school, passes and becomes a hero wanted by villains. He tells his story while being retired as a bartender. He makes his own apple cider and like to clean glasses, because his passion with glass started when he used magic to mold glass.
I'd truly appreciate any lead.

The description reminds of The Name of the Wind, but I'm not sure if all the details match.

Sounds similar to “Name of the Wind” but there’s only two books and it’s not finished yet. Kvothe the barkeep recounts his story to Chronicler. He is orphaned and homeless for a couple years pick pockets on the streets before attending the arcanum. His family was a traveling band of performers and he’s very good at the lute. His story focuses on trying to track down the Chandrian demons and his come and go romance with Denna.
