I'm not the best person for advice, I have too many unfinished books laying around the house, and I read about 4-5 pages each week, so I'm an example for avoidance.

I am the same simetimes.. sometimes I read many all at the samee time, depending on what's happening in my household and what book's I'm reading or listening to
Yea, I was also in the middle of another book - I figured I’d have another day to finish it before the race started. I guess I’ll be reading it in between tasks!

It didn’t say we had to do a selection post. And it all honesty I’d rather not because I’m known for changing my books around haha

Task 1 - Read same author
The Body Painter by Pepper Winters
Pages: 300 (GR)
Qualification: Agreed upon author
Date Completed: 4/15
TBH, I personally didn’t enjoy it (which is probably why it took me so long to get through, lol). The Body Painter was one 300-page-long, lyrically-written (how else would this plotless novel reach those 300 pages) question of “he loves me, he loves me not,” to which The Living Canvas must be the 353-page-long answer.
Positive: Loved the characters!
Takeaway: I might read this author again, but it would have to be a standalone or one that did not end in a cliffhanger. Also, the BDSM was actually really lite, if not nonexistent, unlike what was presented in the precis.
Did you enjoy yours? I know you had been looking forward to that series!
I have mixed feelings about the book. I finished it in one go, but I'm not sure if I'll read the next installment. It ended in a stupid cliffhanger, that I'm sure I know how it will end since there are several more books + I hated the heroine.
Hmm, I’d be interested to know whether or not everyone else’s boon ended in a (dreaded) cliffhanger! I had never read Pepper Winters before, but I’m wondering if that’s one of her trademark writing features. Also, since I know we haven’t yet settled on a series to read together, can I make a request that whatever we choose NOT end in a cliffhanger, if we can help it.
I have a half finished book by PW and it ends in a cliffhanger. I checked the reviews when I started reading it.
I’m about 60% done with “Pennies”. Honestly, so far it’s been a drag. I’m not really keen on PW’s writing style, personally :(

It was too poetic for me, which is a super ironic complaint coming from an English major! Hopefully the last 40% gets better for you!

Yay, you've completed Task 1! In the future, please make sure you use the GR Kindle first edition for you page count. Thanks! Here is Task 2:
65. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
Remember to show how you know where the book is set - the GR main book page, lists of books 'set in xyz', tags saying 'set in xyz' or precis as examples.
I’m fine with using the U.K. still, for this one! Though I would prefer to use some of the other locations discussed for the other prompts so that there is verity :)
If you prefer something else, there is Canada,Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Australia or even Greece. (and many more obviously)
Chris wrote: "If you prefer something else, there is Canada,Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Australia or even Greece. (and many more obviously)"Uk is good
I’m fine with U.K. for prompt 65. (I’ve started “This Earl of Mine,” set in London, but I can start something else, too, if need be.) But when it asks for hometown, if we could go with one of the other three (California, Texas, or Greece)?
Here is Task 2:65. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country. United Kingdom/London
I'm going to read Agnes Grey, I have it sitting around for ages and it's set in UK, so I'll give it a go. I hope that it doesn't suck...
How do you see tags? There’s this one book that I think is set in the UK, but I’m not entirely sure.
It’s ~
@Amelia, you have to be in desktop view, it’s “see top shelves” under Genres on the right. On Goodreads, “shelves” and “tags” are synonymous. I took a quick look and didn’t see any location mentioned in the tags. Is it on any lists?
@Amelia, in the center of the page after “Reader Q&A,” there’s “Lists with this book.” Bottom right of the section has a link to “More lists with this book” you can click there to see all the lists the book has been placed on. Sometimes people will make book lists for locations (University, NY, Hollywood, etc). I looked and it doesn’t seem to be on any location lists, London nor otherwise :/
