Ris | 485 comments Sorry, I'm getting confused with the list links. Can y'all type the name of the list we're going with?

Most Controversial Dark Romance list

message 103: by Milly (new)

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) That's what I thought we were using

Tiki | 491 comments Amelia wrote: "That's what I thought we were using"

We are, I got a little confused from before

message 105: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments That's fine. There were a book or two from that list I was interested in reading.

Tiki | 491 comments Chris wrote: "That's fine. There were a book or two from that list I was interested in reading."

I own many books on the list and I would happily loan any that I can

message 107: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments And I'm really interested in the Hell's Handlers series, if y'all are down for that one.

message 108: by Milly (new)

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) There’s Pepper Winter’s on that list too, so for those who wanted to read her books, they’re on there

message 109: by Milly (new)

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) I’m up for The Machinery of Desire series, that Tiki suggested earlier

message 110: by Chris (new)

Chris | 643 comments There are several tasks that include series to be read, so we can separate them? For one task we can read the HH and for the other the MoD? Would that work? (#25, #26)

message 111: by Chris (new)

Chris | 643 comments Also is "Bully" considered dark? It was quite soft...
I just realized that it was included at the list.

message 112: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments #26 doesn't have to be the same series shared amongst the team. Just #25.

message 113: by Chris (new)

Chris | 643 comments Chris wrote: "#26 doesn't have to be the same series shared amongst the team. Just #25."

My bad, for some reason I thought that it had to be the same series.

message 114: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments It's frustrating that Amazon doesn't have a tag for "Dark Romance" so that we could see what series KU had to offer. Unless y'all know of a different tag y'all can use?

message 115: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments Haha, you're good, Chris! All the tasks are starting to run together in my mind!

message 116: by Chris (new)

Chris | 643 comments I can't wait! This is the first time I participate in anything like that!

message 117: by Milly (last edited Apr 08, 2020 11:54AM) (new)

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) I'm in way too many challenges in other groups. I've got so much to read! I need to stop myself from signing up for things :(

message 118: by Chris (new)

Chris | 643 comments If it wasn't for the lockdown, I wouldn't participate. Now work is slow mostly because the postal services here has suspended mailing parcels to US , Australia and few other countries and the majority of my customers are located there, so I had to change the creation times, and that had reduced my orders.
+ I finished the custom designs I had to do for some publishers.

message 119: by Tiki (new)

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) Mine’s ~

Decade I was born: 2000-2010
Birth Month: December
Year Joined: 2019
Hometown: Technically London, but I’ve spent more time in the North East. County Durham to be exact. Here it’s kinda different than states. So, County Durham would be the equivalent. If you wanna get more specific as to the broad area Bishop Auckland. But, out of the three London would be the one I’d consider using as a book location :)

message 129: by Milly (new)

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) By three I meant out of the three I said. Not out of all of us^^^^
Just to clarify :)

Tiki | 491 comments Amelia wrote: "And all in the same 10 years!! Do you even get sleep??"

yes I get sleep and I have 7 in in a 12 year time spane, also worked full time as a nurse in that time.. It's not easy but I got lucky with a husband who was a world of help. Biologically only 2 are mine but 5 are my niece's I have raised since birth. 2 are 8 month's apart, and 2 other's are 6 month's apart. My oldest born 1998 when I was 19 already married for 3 years, and her mom was was only 16 and unwed, it was us or state, so we took her in and raised her. Granted she moved out at 16 and moved in with her mom then did what her mom did but she is actually raising her son and working full time doing well for herself now. At the time I didn't think about everything I just did despite everything so my niece's weren't thrown into the system. Love my family no matter the cost. In 2002 after my 3rd we had trouble for a little while but pulled though.

My house for years was never quite, I would have 12-15 kid's in my house for many hours with no quite. Had mine, my girlfriends youngest 6, plus few friends from neighbors all hours of the day or night till 2014. I am very used to a full, crazy.. household. most times only girls and every so often handful of boy's

You are a super-woman! I have one and I for the past 3 years I was barely surviving. Now that she is almost 4 things are way better. I can't imagine getting pregnant again.

message 138: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments @Tiki, your family is lucky to have you and your husband! I can’t even begin to imagine how your house was like as your kids were growing up - especially around holidays! You have the Brady Bunch beat, haha

message 139: by Ris (new)

Ris | 485 comments @Chris, have you read any good romances set in Athens, Greece? I’ve never been, but I’d imagine it would be a beautiful setting for a book!

message 140: by Chris (new)

Chris | 643 comments Chris wrote: "@Chris, have you read any good romances set in Athens, Greece? I’ve never been, but I’d imagine it would be a beautiful setting for a book!"

To tell you the truth, no, not even one! There are some books published by Harlequin that take place in Greece but the majority of them take place in islands. There are 2-3 known Greek romance authors, they may have some books with stories set up in Athens, but I haven't read them.
I barely read Greek books anymore, unless I can't read the prototype. + Greek books costs about 20euros each, especially novels, unless you find them in second hand shops and thrift stores, it doesn't worth spending that much for a book that you will read only once.

If you want we can search for few books.

Milly (purpleglitterypinecone) Tiki you’re lucky it’s mainly girls in your household. I live in a house full of boys. Literally I’m probably never gonna see another female, in person, till the pandemic is over-
