And we have agreed on two yet. We need to choose between them too.😂

Let me message her to see if she can pop in or if she cares which author

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 525 comments i guess i actually have read a book by Whitney G..lol

I'm good with her i guess so we can get this show on the road.

That's a good question. Lol

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 525 comments I don't want to start early if she only assigned the task early to allow us to debate. But the rules originally said First Task Assigned April 14, 2020 at 6 PM US EDT.

Tink Magoo is bad at reviews (tinkmagoo) | 1381 comments I've just seen this in the Q&A for the future task, so we could do England or India instead of New York if that makes it easier at the time

I think we may have to wait and see because i was wondering what considered a hometown.

A state or country is not a hometown to me.

The early Q&A said "What defines a 'home town' will be defined if announced."

That being said New York as a state is ok, her actual town, not so much. Same for England, easy to find. India isn't always as easy to find due to translation issues. Oregon, while a larger state by area, isn't one that comes up a bunch in books.

I do know she implied ... Minimum of state in the US or country outside the US. I can't imagine being pickier than that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2496 comments I asked in the Q&A and we can start reading. So we should search for our books and see what we get and post what we are going to work on.

I think New York is easiest. Lots of books set there.

I'll go for the below book. The actual audible edition isn't on GR yet. I'm suppose to be working right now, so can't add it.

Tink, I think there's a minimum page limit of 150 mentioned in the rules, so you might have to change the book.

There is a 150 page minimum for books, rereads and audios ok.Books may only be used once per player during the challenge. Players may read the same book for a task unless otherwise specified. Books do not have to be romance, but must be fiction.

MountainKat | 31599 comments Yay - you've completed Task 1! Here is task 2:

52. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location.

For the location, you may use a state if within the US, or the country if outside the US. Make sure you show how you know the setting in your qualification. You may also use something nonspecific like a university or hospital. For those, the books do not need to be set in the exact same university for example, but all of your books would need to be set in a university and you would need to prove this in your qualification.

message 78: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 525 comments Anybody have an upcoming book with a location to suggest?

I have a short one upcoming set in Texas. Aside from that I haven't looked a head for my other reads.

Outside of that my current reads are already started so I would need to pick a new book. As we can't have started a book before the task.

If everyone is okay with it, I just realized that almost all books by Jessica Gadziala are set in Navesink Bank, NJ (except for a few stand-alones)
And she has written a hell lot of books there, so it won't be difficult to find 6 good ones.

Tink Magoo is bad at reviews (tinkmagoo) | 1381 comments I wondered if the nonspecific location might be easier like a university /college or office /bar/shop ?

We could do University too. That would be the easiest.

message 83: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 525 comments Of the two I would find New Jersey easiest. I find it a tad more difficult to find a book where the majority of it takes place on the university /college campus.

Most sport romances are based in colleges but I wonder if it would need to be in the same state. Hmmm?

Well then, Texas or NJ? Or anything else?
Personally, I would go with New Jersey since we practically have all books by Jessica Gadziala set there only. And there are many series too, like The Professionals, MC Henchmen, Mallick Brothers etc.
But if we can find 6 books set in Texas that would be great too.
