Book is about a kid who finds an abandoned young raven/crow, finds out he can converse up with it. Nurses it, and later is able to merge into the ravens body. They then discover a bunch of history about people who had these corvid familiars. Some ravens ate their masters becoming immortal but constantly hungry. The kid and his bird then participate in a longtime war waged against the immortal birds. Read in 2015?
