Abibliophobia-the fear of running out of things to read 🥺 | 23 comments Personally, by far my favorite place to read on my phone is iBooks. To me, it has the most book like qualities and best options. It can also automatically turn to be a black background when there isn’t much light, which I love. I feel like all of the features are very advanced. The second favorite would be Libby, then Adobe Digital Editions, then Kindle, and then Overdrive (Libby is the user friendly version of Overdrive).

Maddie I like audio books and ebooks. I don't enjoy all audio books (per the person reading them) but, I enjoyed the Harry Potter audio books.

Chantalle | 17 comments Next question everyone, do you read reviews before diving in? Or do you read books going in blind? 🤔

message 4: by kylee (new)

kylee It depends. If i’m going to buy the book, and it’s slightly expensive, then for sure. I don’t want to own a terrible book (although i do own some haha)

Ken My favorite way to read books is on an app called Read2Go which is put on by Bookshare. You can get your books for free after you purchase a Bookshare account, but the downside of that is that you need to have a disability, physical, mental, whatever, to use it. Personally, I am Legally Blind and I know some people who use it because they’re dyslexic. Either way, it’s really nice and caters to visual accessability!!

Wow! I've never heard of Bookshare, but I'm glad it caters to those who need it! That's amazing to hear!

Abigail (ammcginley) I usually use Kindle for my ebooks. But sometimes I also use the Cloud Library to take digital books out of the library.

maria (mariaabarrosoo) | 7 comments i have started reading ebooks on scribd, and it’s currently my fave

message 9: by L (new)

L (lizofwords) I’ve been using iBooks for my ebooks and I really like it’s settings and everything. But I’ve encountered a problem and maybe some of you know how to counter this. Basically the cover of the book won’t display but rather just shows a blank colored cover with just the title on the top and the author on the bottom. Anyone can help?

Chantalle | 17 comments Abby, I have a kindle to is cloud library an app? Because if so I need it lol I spend WAY to much money on buying books

message 13: by Francisco (new)

Francisco Restrepo (pacholee) | 3 comments I read in both: of the printed books I like that you can collect them and share them with friends; Of the electronic books on kindle I like that I can take it anywhere, also it does not tire my eyes.

message 14: by Alana (new)

Alana My favorite way to read a book is with the actual book in hand. I can’t look at anything with a screen for longer than 10-15 minutes without getting a migraine. I ordered a kindle paperwhite since I heard it could help with that. I’ll have to get back to you after I get it and let you know how it goes.
Sometimes I read the reviews but I will still get the book if it sounds interesting to me regardless of what the reviews say 🤷🏼‍♀️

message 15: by Tegan (new)

Tegan Andrew (lunarosetextiles) | 2 comments I like to use my nearly 10-year-old kindle paperwhite to read and use Libby to check books out. I also like the Kindle app on my phone so I can read when I don't have my device on me. My favorite thing is to read actual books curled up on the couch with a cup of tea. However, with this quarantine thing going on, there is a limited number of books that I can read that way.

message 16: by Josie (new)

Josie | 3 comments I prefer paperback, but as far as reading services I prefer Libby or kindle.

message 17: by Madelaine (new)

Madelaine | 2 comments I always preferred reading a tangible book, but it became very expensive. I bought a kindle and have been using it for a few years now. I have become used to it. It less expensive and I love the built in light.

message 18: by bertille (new)

bertille m (bertmarthou) I have tried so many times over the last few years to read on Kindle and similar devices. My parents bought me one a few christmases ago, and I think my mother used it more than I did (and still is using it)... At least the device now has some use ! I very much prefer paperbacks, but I agree that they can be quite expensive in the long run. I like to share books with my friends, so that we can read each others' books without buying them ! But I am guilty of buying way more books than I read. When I walk in a bookstore I just can't resist... But my personal library will get passed on to my kids someday, I hope !

message 19: by Moranda (new)

Moranda Bromberg (morandaray) | 1 comments I love Audible, also love Kindle, and read about half my books on those two apps. The other half are paperbacks which I almost always buy used for a couple dollars which saves me a lot of money. Definitely like reading paperback so I can underline, highlight, and dogear my pages. I go back and read them over and over as well.

message 20: by Josephine (new)

Josephine | 4 comments I have always preferred reading paperbacks, but I’ve been reading on my iPad recently on the kindle app, because it’s been hard to get book delivered recently. I like that actual books fill a book shelf and tell a story, but I also love that you don’t need a light on when reading at night with the kindle app, so reading now helps me fall asleep. It’s much cheaper, so I think I’ll only buy books I really enjoyed or by authors I love and therefore want the whole collection of.

Buying only books you enjoyed is such a great idea ! I hadn't think about this, since it's kind of the other way around usually, but I will definitely try it, thanks for the idea !
