I hope to:
* Read 50 books from the 1001 list
* Read books set in at least 80 different countries and/or states
* Read more of the classics
* Read more books I already own (at least 90%)
* Read at least 10 books with more than 500 pages

I'm hoping to:
Finish the Australia challenge (2 more books to go)
Finish the USA state challenge (11 more books to finish)
Read more books for the UK challenge
Read more books that I own
Read some more classic women authors

So far, I hope to finish at least 60 books next year (which I didn't make this year), and half of them should be from the 1001 list. But then again, I'd like to pay more attention to contemporary novels as well. Oh, this is hard- to many books, not enough time..

- Challenge myself to read books I already own
- Read 150 books
- Write at least a brief review for every book I read
- Challenge myself to read the books by favorite authors that I have not yet read (and hopefully those books will be ones that I already own.
- Balance my reading of 2015 releases with the above goals
I've been thinking about 2015 reading plans a lot over the last few days. This is what I hope to accomplish.
· Complete an A-Z Challenge (26)
· Complete the Pop Sugar book challenge for 2015 and log them on Pinterest (50)
·Read my own books and at least 30 on my Kindle (30)
· Read two or more full series (6+)
· Focus on my 1001 Books You Must Read List(15)
· Purchase through my trade in books at my local independent store. No new book purchases.
· Catalogue my books as I go so I'm not overwhelmed by my kindle purchases (freebies)
· Continue to follow along with group reads.
· Slow down and enjoy each book as it comes. No anxiety if I don't finish on time. Read one or two books at a time, not five plus.
· Build up my British mystery Library through my trade in books.

What a challenge Darlene! Go for it!

Yes, indeed Darlene you have some challenges.
I also probably need to catalog books on kindle - pretty good with print books but ebooks not even sure all what I have.

It's a good idea to catalogue at least your favorite genre, especially if there are series. Goodreads has helped me immensely with reading from new genres and has so much useful information on authors for my review writing. I use the feature on my kindle to put each new ebook into a collection but was unsure if I had all in a series. I've been able now, by listing all in a binder, to order the books in a series and put a check if owned, a check if read, in the margin. I can take the binder with me when I shop. I have discovered I hadn't added all ebook purchases into Goodreads yet. My budget is severely limited this year so intend almost all reading to be from my own library. One challenge I may also try is the one to read series in completion. I will probably try at least three series as a member of the Christian Fiction Devourers group.

But since I have less than 30 countries to visit on the trekker challenge I started back in 2012, I think I am actually going to finish it in 2015.
Other than this, I want to continue reading more African books, as well as reading more around the world (probably at the tourist level next year).

This year my theme on book buying in the sales was to read more titles from around the world. There is a mix of fiction and non-fiction and I don't think that I've read any of the authors before and in several cases haven't read a book from that country before. So, I my 2015 aim is to read my way down this list and a few others of course :)

Very nice list, Theresa. I hope you will keep us updated with your progress.

Change to a Frequent Flier since I did not meet my circumnavigator goal of at least 80 books and to also participate in a few of the
challenges e.g. A-Z, smaller US Roadtrip, Continental ABC's etc to help meet my goal of at least 150 books read for 2015.
I will still use my bookshelves and library and try to read more new authors.

I like your list, Theresa! I might note these titles myself, so thank you.
Thank you, Marie. Norway isn't represented, so who would you suggest?

If you'd like to read a classic, Knut Hamsun's "The growth of the soil" or Tarjei Vessas 'the birds' are great, and a very good introduction to norwegian writing and history. Karl Ove Knausgaard "my stuggle" is modern novel (and I think they where just released in english), and the books caused great controversy here when they where released two years ago. It's a six book diary...
Thank you, Marie, I'll look into your suggestions after the New Year celebrations.

I am going to do:
A to Z classic author challenge
I would like to:
-read books I already own!
-read 1 or 2 series
-read (minimum) 1 non-fiction a month
Also, I expect I'll aim for 100 books read again. I'm ending this year with 102.

My main goal for 2015 is to read books I own. My TBR is at 155 books and I dream of 100 or less.
My other goal is actually to read more books for my circumnavigator challenge and try and join more group reads in this group.

Welcome to the group, Audrey!

I am hoping to read at least 28 books (I managed 32 last year with a goal of just 15 so here's hoping it should be manageable).
I'm also doing an A-Z book title challenge and hoping to get at least 12 books read from my to-read shelf that were placed there before the 1st Dec 2014. I fancy reading at least one play in amongst all this too.
Better get reading! Happy 2015 all.

To continue my Circumnavigator and Frequent Flyer journeys
To continue the Rogue Traveler and Tourist journeys
To read at least 40 countries this year
To once again complete the US Roadtrip (I have thankfully been able to complete it for the last three years!)
In a larger sense, I am going to try to finish up more series that I have already started and more of the books I currently own (only about 1900 or so on my physical TBR stacks - lol).
Happy New Year and Happy Reading!

This year, I'm going to read mostly novels in translation, and nearly all books published in 2015. Often I find I read books several years 'late' and thus miss out on the early conversations when books come out - going to change that this year!

I am having trouble figuring out how to sign up for the challenges. Can a moderator help me. This is probably not the right place but I couldn't find the right place. I want to be in the U. S. Road Trip and the Around the World Frequent Flyer. and maybe the A-Z Challenge. thanks for any help you can give me.
