Writing a Novel question

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on finding a literary agent for your novel in America? Any tips and information of copy right, ect. Would be greatly appreciated. I have written 3 novels thus far. The first one is ready for an agent to look over. It is a psychological thriller. I am Australian and my book is more suited to an American audience.
