I haven't spent a lot of time on their site. You found something indicating there's a fee?

"Deadlines and Pricing

Early Bird Deadline: 31 March 2020 ~ £20
Deadline: 30 April 2020 ~ £30
Final Late Deadline: 31 May 2020 ~ £45"

The first post on this thread seems to be gone. I find that strange and suspicious. Would they rather not announce it at all than do so when it's stated out front that there's a fee? Well, for the record, it's about the PAGE TURNER AWARDS.

Ville Kokko | 52 comments Somebody in the comments here claims that Page Turner (not mentioning awards) is a scam of some sort.

I'm suspicious of any "award" that comes with a pricetag. Such organizations abound. The particularly insidious are when an indie publisher and some promotion/awards group are linked and don't state that. Example: a publisher encourages their authors to apply for an award and the publisher fails to reveal they're part or whole owner of the awards group.
For that matter, it also grates against me when a publisher only suggests marketing plans they get a cut/kickback on. Even more so when there's no guarantee of success (even minor success).
I don't mind when such arrangements are stated up front, not when they're discovered due to author research.
I understand that there's not a lot of money in indie publishing. I'd prefer that any attempts to make money be obvious. It's tough to trust advice that has an agenda.

Ville Kokko | 52 comments I simply assume that if I pay submission fees - even "small" ones and not £20-45 like here - I'm probably going to be making a loss even after someone finally accepts one submission and pays something for it.

I think it was reported as being spam (which, frankly, it was).
