((Sorry. I'm a bit rusty with rping.))

He found himself at a tall building and ran to the shelter from the smoke. He could find a corner and hide.
((Hey! :) ))
Cody was inside, trying to find books that weren't in too bad shape. He heard someone come in, and automatically loosened his sword in it's scabbard. "Hello?" He called out cautiously.

Someone was calling to him.
He swallowed, closing his eyes as he quickly found a voice that felt trustworthy and used.
"Hello...Sorry for bursting in."
It occurred to him that he might look tragic, with tears streaking his face from the out of control running, and he wiped his eyes with his hoody sleeve, pulling up the hood in the process.
He walked around a shelf, seeing the panicked-looking guy in the hoodie. "Hey, you alright? Do you need anything?"
Cody always asked people if they needed anything when he saw them. That's just the type of person he was.

Park walked further into the building, closer to the stranger. The place was oddly tranquil, and he couldn't put his finger on it. Was it the silence, the atmosphere? There was noises, but not like outside-subtler, richer noises. Creaking wood, hollow footsteps, dripping water. It was nothing he hadn't heard before...
"Who are you?"
He needed to understand this guy before he could take anything from him-or ask, more likely.
Cody still had a hand on his sword, not ready to completely trust him yet. "Cody Ward. What's your name?"

"I was looking for food. I'm sorry I stumbled on...whatever you have here."
Cody seemed like the guy who deserved most of Park's intentions. Something about him just felt okay, trustable.
He smiled slightly, taking his hand off of his sword. The kid didn't look dangerous. "It's nice to meet you Park." He reached into his backpack and took out three protean bars and two bottles of water, setting them down on a table near Park. "Here, you can have these."
((Hey I have to go, it's past 1:30 where I live and I have to be up early tomorrow. I'll be on a little tomorrow morning, but more in the afternoon))

He ate faster, drinking the water and swallowing two protein bars before he remembered Cody in the room, watching him.
"...thanks..."

"I'm not intruding on your space?"
He needed to be sure.
Cody shook his head, smiling more. "Nope! This isn't my space, this is for everyone. I'm just here looking for books that haven't been ruined."

He picked up his remaining water and protein bar and walked further in, looking around on his own volition. Cody seemed okay with him doing his quiet snooping, all things besides. He had an air of calm that surrounded him, something that washed over everything in the room and into every hidden corner and personality. It made Park feel included.
"Do you have anywhere to stay?" Cody asked curiously. The guy looked pretty tired and like he hadn't gotten any good rest in a long time. "If you don't, I can help you find a house. A lot of them are still in good condition, but are empty."

He picked up a short children's novel and leaned against the bookcase, reading. Even though the message was silly and the title was about some time traveling kids, it felt...ethereal. Unreal.

He leaned back against the bookshelf, reading
Cody grabbed a book for himself, Eragon, and sat at a table, reading also. He liked reading in the company of people who weren't trying to kill him, it was relaxing.

No. Nope.
This guy could still be planning to kill him, reading his book all nonchalant-Park may have just fallen into his calm trap. It was all an elaborate ruse. Was Cody his real name?
The thoughts filtered through him fast and unstoppable, and he kept his eyes open wide, pushing away the temptation of sleep. He hadn't slept more than a few hours at a time in the past few weeks, and he wasn't about to let this uncontrolled, swampy sleep strangle him for eight hours in a potentially unsafe place. No sir. Nope.
Cody noticed the other guy starting to nod off, then seem to decide that he didn't want to sleep, though he still looked exhausted. "Are you okay, Park? You look really tired. I promise that I'm not going to hurt you, and I'll wake you if any threats should come up."

"I um...I'm fine." He said in the still gravelly unchosen voice, the one he was still making up. He coughed, realizing he was being inconsistent, Cody would figure it out if he was inconsistent.
"Thanks for the offer though."
He got up to move further into the library, hopefully to find somewhere to nest up. IF he slept, WHEN he slept, it'd have to be safe, and definitely hidden. And if Cody was noticing he was tired, he may as well figure something out before Cody started grilling him about why.

If he could wake himself up.
Maybe.
He closed his eyes and passed out, exhausted.

((she's like 13 by the way.))
