Could be interesting. Leo Moracchioli, as it turns out does metal covers of a huge variety of other artists songs, but as far as I can see, doesn't release anything of his own. In fact, apart from uploads to youtube, I am not sure if he releases anything at all, maybe Jim can keep us right on that one.

Quick tidy, and also thought it worth a mention that my nomination 'Dance Monkey' original vocals are shockingly bad, as is the whole song to be honest. Hannah's vocals on the cover are 100% better, and with Leo in charge the song is understandably more bearable.

In response to Brassy and Lez's observations:
Weird Al Yankovitch is all about changing the lyrics for comedic effect, while the music remains pretty much as the original. Leo retains the original lyrics (even covering Gangnam Style in Korean!) while completely altering the musical arrangements.
I would agree that making a carbon copy cover would be a pointless exercise, but rebuilding a song from the ground up in a completely different style to the original is valid and can often result in an improvement on the original.
I also like the fact that Leo does more than just straight metal covers. I mean, who'd have thought of a flute solo in Song 2?

I wouldn't say he completely alters the arrangements. That would be e.g. John Cale's Heartbreak Hotel, or Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower.

At his best, Leo's covers are fun. Others lean more towards the old adage of terrible reggae covers of songs, that you can reggaefy anything, but it doesn't mean you should. 😀

I did have a laugh seeing Rabea pop up in a couple of the vids, as I've seen him when watching Andertons Guitar shop videos.
