What are you thinking as we move forward in this story?

What has stood out to you?

What themes have you picked up on?

Any quotes that you have loved so far?

Sarah Swann I just got done posting the previous section thoughts and I said that I missed Sam. Low and behold I turn the page and there he is! And it’s a chapter that involves Smeagol....I am here for this!!!

Made it this far and am really hoping to fly through the last section today and finish in April. Fingers crossed.

I am really enjoying Frodo and Sam's journey and their interactions with Gollum/Smeagol and then Faromir and his men. I see Frodo's determination and heaviness about his task. He also is quite a bit more introspective and maybe even wise than when he first started. Sam is such a loyal friend and I just love the scenes when he looks out for Frodo and even stands up for him. So lovely.

Evelina Honestly, so far into this book I prefer the "first book" with Merry and Pippin and the ents. But I do enjoy reading about Sam and Frodo and Sams friendship and protectiveness over Frodo. I may not like Gollum as a charachter but I like reading about him, if that makes sense. Faramir seems like an interesting characther and I'm excited to finish the book.
