I've started. I read the prequel series to this one a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. I read this one...And liked it but not as much as the Infernal Devices. I never read on in this series, so I'm looking forward to finishing it.
I'm having a hard time because I keep remembering the movie and the tv series. Jace is a jerk but Alex is condescending. Alex is definitely jealous that Jace is spending time with Clary.

Me too!
Me too!

I started watching the show but haven't watched the movie. I never finished it.

If I were Clary, I would be so mad at my mom for keeping all of this from me! I can see why she did it, but it was hiding half of herself from her.

For sure, I would be mad, too.

Finished. It was a good ending. I'm glad I re-read this because I forgot a lot about what had happened. I love Luke.
I'm still reading. The silent brothers are totally creepy! Luke is a good guy. Not really a fan of Hodge.
Poor Simon! I wouldn't want to be turned into a rat! Alex is a jerk! The Silent Brothers are so creepy!
I kind of felt bad for Jace at the end. He was so confused as to who to trust. But I also thought he was kind of being stupid...he'd been told all his life that Valentine was bad, so why start trusting him now?
Hodge did betray the kids but he did save Alex by sending that message. Valentine is delusional and hateful. Love Luke!

I think he wanted to have his Dad back so he refused to see who Valentine/his Dad really was. I felt bad for both Jace and Clary...they have feeling for one another then they find out they are brother and sister. That is so messed up!

We will start reading this book in April 3rd.
Please feel free to join in and read with us at any time :)
Description: When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...
