Just as all Royal Weddings seem to be cause for celebration not only in the Commonwealth countries but around the world. They are a positive thing where people can gather and look at the beautiful wedding gown and feel part of the party.

I think the Royal Wedding really embodied the sense of togetherness that people need in difficult times. It was an event that spanned the globe, so that no matter where you were in the Commonwealth, it was something to celebrate and take pride in, and be reminded that you were not alone, but a part of something bigger. I think it inspired hope and rekindled a unity that might have been lacking after the war.

Regarding the morale boosting Royal Wedding, I feel that for a lot of people the concept of the Royal Family allows you to daydream into what seems like a fantasy world. It has a fairy tale element and to have a distraction at such a time must have allowed people to look towards the future again with a renewed sense of hope.
