What do you love about it?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

I love the culture of France (no, not just the eiffel tower XD)

Hi Lindsay!

➳Halina➳ I like the sound of French. It's pretty. I also love ballet. A lot. And ballet originated in France and all the names of the steps are in French, as well as the positions and general names of dances. (i.e. reverence, pas de deux, etc.)

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Yes, same about ballet. I've loved it ever since I was little, and I think it would be really cool to learn French and about the French when one of my favorite things in the world originated there.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Cool! What's that?

message 7: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ I HAVE A NEW REASON! In Anna and the French Kiss they're in Paris and obviously they speak French there and it's the best book ever so yeah.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

In Just One Day they go to France for 24 hours and that's one of the BEST BOOKS EVER so yeah

message 9: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Okay.

Because I now know how to say I forget things a lot in a foreign langauge. Why else?

message 12: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Wow.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Because it would be really fun to talk to people in Italian and I love Italian culture and food (PASTA PIZZA BRUSCHETTA PROSCIUTTO CHEESE BREAD) and architecture and old timey clothing and stuff.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Ooh, yeah, Italian architecture is really cool

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

And I can annoy Germans too.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Darn.

Guess what.((Rhetorical))
I'm looking through old Frozen the sequel posts.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Sydney wrote: "*cough*Ich*clears throat* eine Junge*clears throat*ahem"

What. You might want to translate that first. "I have a boy" Is what you just said.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

LILY I WAS DOING THAT LAST WEEK AND I COMPLETED THE ENTIRE ROLEPLAY GROUP IN A FULL DAY

message 21: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ I took a break from Duolingo for the holidays since I've had absolutely no time. But when I went shopping today a lot of words on clothes were in French and I was happy because I could translate a lot of them or figure out what they meant with context from the words I did know. :)

Awesome!!!

Have any of you guys been on recently?

(Hit my last "test out of x skills" bar! I can see the end of the tree!)

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments No, my sisters were in town. But I'm going to start up again soon!

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't. But seriously, what did you mean before?

message 25: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyokayokay) | 164 comments Mod
Ich eine Junge? It means "I am a boy"

message 26: by ➳Halina➳ (last edited Jan 03, 2015 05:41AM) (new)

➳Halina➳ XD Lily
Does Swedish have almost no relation to English? That's what it seems like.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Whatever. I guess you accomplished the task of a German annoying an Italian. Well done. *bows*. :)

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I could translate a lot while watching Moulin Rouge

message 29: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyokayokay) | 164 comments Mod
@halina: yes it does! and it only has two genders, that their rules are like legos, they build off eachother, and if you have 2 blocks, you know how to make 60 blocks. See what I mean? The grammar is really simple, and it is a lot like english. Or, at least not as much as dutch. If you want a REALLY easy langauge that more like english than any other language, go for dutch.

@lily grace, why thank you.

@ella, what is moulin rouge?

message 30: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Okay, thanks! I haven't seen much Swedish but from what I have seen it seems confusing if all you know is English.

And Moulin Rouge is a musical.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments What's it about?

Btw, Sydney, since all three of us want to be lawyers, maybe we could switch out every time so that we all get a chance, and then the third person can just stand in as the witness. Does that sound okay?

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm listening to musical stuff speaking of witch.

I WISH! MORE THAN ANYTHING! MORE THAN LIFE! MORE THAN JEWELS!

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments I WISH TO GO TO THE FESTIVAL

Translation: Moulin Rouge looks cool to me! What do you think about it? It looks good if you aks me...are you asking me?

(Me trying out my swedish, no google translate used excpet for spell checking)

Guys, have you ever heard of Alexander Rybak? He is my new favirote artist....His song europe's skies and roll with the wind, and into fantasy and more are pretty good.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Moulin Rouge is about this writer who comes to Paris for inspiration during the Bohemian revolution and falls in love with this courtesan named Satine, but this duke also loves her, so there's this unfinished love triangle. It's called Moulin Rouge because that is the name of a night club that was being built into a theater due to the time period.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Oh, that sounds interesting!

My favorite song right now is probably This is Gospel. It's sad

in Europe skies, at 2:15 on this video, go there, and the best part of the song plays.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUv1q...

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Once again, I have the first of Miss Jackson stuck in my head.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

My favorite song right now is probably either Youth by Daughter, Little House by Amanda Seyfried, or One Day I'll Fly Away

message 46: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ This is Gospel is too upbeat to provoke sadness for me. I like Blood Bank, For Emma, and Skinny Love by Bon Iver and Youth by Daughter.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

YOUTH BY DAUGHTER

message 48: by ➳Halina➳ (last edited Jan 03, 2015 01:42PM) (new)

➳Halina➳ XD oh I also love Buzzcut Season by Lorde.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

I love the accompniament to that song

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Europe skies sounds like something Marius would sing.
