I thought we'd try a little something different this quarter. I went through all the "holidays" of the next three months and picked out a couple and made a challenge out of them.
Challenge duration: April 1st - June 30th
Pick a level with the amount of books you hope to read in the next 3 months!
Library Week: Read a book you borrowed from your public library! (A lot of libraries are closed right now but hopefully you have some books from before the closure or maybe you can still check out ebooks/audiobooks.) Easter, Passover, Ramadan, etc.: Read a book that has religion incorporated somehow. (Can be anything from Christian Fiction to books with demons and exorcisms to books with mythology and gods. The interpretation is up to you.) Humor Month: Read a humorous book. Poetry Month: Read a poetry book OR a book that incorporates poetry somehow.
May:
Asian American Month: Read a book by an Asian author OR a book with an Asian protagonist. Cinco de Mayo: Read a book by a Mexican/Hispanic author OR a book with a Mexican/Hispanic protagonist. Space Day/Star Wars Day: Read a sci-fi book. Free Comic Book Day: Read a comic book, graphic novel, or manga.
June:
Gay Pride Month: Read a book with a LGBTQ+ protagonist. Kissing Day: Read a romance book OR a book with romance. Aquarium Month/World Ocean Day: Read a book that takes place near a body of water OR about sea creatures (e.g. mermaids!) First Day of Summer: Read a book that takes place during the summer.
You can mix an match the categories and read as many or as little books as you'd like. Feel free to create your own thread so you can keep track of the books you're going to read/have read! And if you have any questions, let me know! Have fun and happy reading! 😁
