SOLVED. Science fiction: aliens put parasites in space marines armor hero dates prostitute

Part of a series. I found them in a book resale store 16+ years ago at which time the whole 3+ book series has already been finished.

Hero was a soldier with space suit who fought against alien invaders. The aliens on the humans side of the war would place leather in the soldiers suits that would poses the humans and then turn them into killer demons.

After the war the hero loses his memory... possibly frozen in time and emerges years later. He keeps his suit and crashes on a post apocalyptic city planet where he is saved by a prostitute with psychic abilities. She helps him and he ends up fighting his pimp and discovering the leather in his suit is sentient and can help him control the suit.
