SciFi book set in distant future on Earth /s

Looking for a book i read years ago. Cant remember name or author. It is set billions of years in the future. Humans are regenerated and live a thousand year life time. Then they are cast back into the computer to be generated again sometime in the future. Main character is a "new soul", who is experiencing his first lifetime.
