I'm okay with either way, but I do like to have some kind of guideline for posting. If it has chapters, for example, posting every five chapters if they're average length (whatever that is) or every ten if short, etc. As long as we can get discussion. This book ch. 5 ends on pg. 22, so it might or might not have anything you want to discuss. I've sometimes even commented on the Prologue.

It would be nice, too, if everyone would post the chapters they are covering.

This is going to be a nice group!

I skimmed through the book and it seems chapters grow in length as the story progresses. At the beginning, chapters are shorter so that 10 chapters are 52 pages, but then it becomes 100 pages between chapter 20 et 30. Maybe we should comment every 50 pages or so? I don't know... It's like you said, Vicki, we may have nothing or a lot to say about 22 pages.

However, if we go completely free-style, we will have to mark down spoilers and indicate which chapters we are covering. Otherwise, it's going to be awfully chaotic, consideirng our number. :P

True. Lol Of course, I don't want anyone to feel they have to stop reading to comment so we could just say try to comment throughout. It's just sometimes in buddy reads people read the entire book and then post they're done and we haven't discussed it. Lol I don't want anyone to feel it's regimented! So just loosely speaking comment from time to time when we have something to say about what's going on or ask questions for clarification or want to talk about how much we love/hate a character. Lol It'll all fall into place! :)

ANYWAY I'm happy that the author included angels of darker skin tones. So far so good with that angel's execution. The slapping awake the angel was both priceless and heartbreaking considering the circumstances. Onward, I go! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I love where this is going. Usually people associate Angels with the good and the pure. Well Burnt and Night certainly puts that into perspective. I like Snow. I wonder what his real name is. Penryn's mom is weird and crazy but she seems to have a way with these demons she speaks of. I wonder, if there is a heaven in this book, if that's where the other angels took Paige. (hide spoiler)]

At chapter 22: the sexism and Not Like The Other Girls trope turned me off. If I had winced at the depiction of mental illness in this book, now I'm just disgusted. My excitement is gone.

I understand the author is trying to be funny and witty in Penryn's narration, but she is also reinforcing stigma that are already harmful in our society. Chapter 25: (view spoiler)[I would have liked the Angel mythology better if a)Raffe didn't read the Bible. (???) b)Raffe didn't watch tv. (??????) c) Angels weren't born American. (How else would they speak American English to each other, anyway?) d)The angel mythology went beyond angels bringing the apocalypse. (hide spoiler)]

Raffe seems like a nice guy/angel. You can tell him and Penryn have feelings for each other. I hope that works out but with authors these days you never know. (hide spoiler)]

After reading these chapters I'm not sure how I feel.
