I just finished Home by Marilynne Robinson.....The last 50 pages were phenomenal, such a slow coming-to-know Jack and Glory.....Glory's question, posed at the correct moment, not when it first occurred to her (p. 287): what is a soul? and Jack's self-deprecating response that, "it is what you can't get rid of..." in face of his previous comment that he usually couldn't hold onto to anything. I don't know. There is a depth here that you can feel more than you communicate. A wisdom of not holding on to objects, people, reality. As we seem to be losing so much....in nyc...right now....."Does a soul have a home?" (p. 282)
