We learn that Callum knew all along that Sam wasn’t Alison but kept quiet about it, primarily because he thought Sam’s marriage to Gavin would bring her back to Scotland and he saw how good Sam was for Gavin. Did he do the right thing? Were you surprised that Alison’s rejection of him was what sent him into seclusion?

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I knew Callum was suspicious of Sam, but I didn't understand why he didn't tell anyone. When we learned that Gavin had retreated into seclusion after his travels to America, I still didn't put it together. Since it sounds like Alison is on her way to Scotland, I guess we'll find out why she rejected him.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1205 comments I am with you on this one, too, Robin. I await the next installment.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I was pretty sure that Callum knew from the beginning that she wasn't Alison. I remember when Gavin asked him if he remembered her and Callum was evasive. I figured he knew. I think Callum was wise to keep Sam's secret. He didn't know why she did it, but he trusted his instinct that Sam was a good person. I'm sure there is a lot more to Callum's story that his bad experience with Alison. Should be a great book. To bad it's going to be a while before it gets written.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I think there are definitely some unanswered questions there. I assumed that Callum thought Sam was a good person and he thought she would be good for Gavin. Hope it's not too long before we get the answers to this one.

I suspected that Callum might know that Sam wasn't Alison, especially when he disclosed how close they were growing up. At the end of the story, he also revealed that he'd read Alison's letters to Sam and knew she was doing what Alison wanted her to do.

I was really shocked, though, to learn that she was the reason he went into seclusion.

Stay tune since she's on her way home! I'm Team Callum.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments To bad book time has no relation to real time. It's going the be awhile before she gets this book written.

I agree. She’s only got two planned beyond the next one.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Yeah, I wasn't surprised by any of this.

There were numerous clues to Callum knowing the truth about Sam as well as his feelings for the real Alison.

I also want Callum and Alison's book. There is a story to be told here.

I even checked to see if there was a book for Alison when she was first introduced because I liked her right away. In fact, I like her more than Sam.
