The Rook very much reminds me of Dorian Blackwell. He flaunts the fact that he is a pirate and seems to slip away from the police with ease. The Rook mentions at the end of the story that "Dorian Blackwell is a name that haunts me". I'm looking forward to reading about what that means.
Didn’t it say that there is a striking resemblance between Dorian and The Rook?
I really didn’t understand why Gavin took such risks until I got the depths of his desire to extricate himself from the Mackenzie line. Then it made sense. I didn’t anticipate them getting caught, though.

I can't wait to get to the next book and find out if The Rook is somehow related to all of the men that we've met so far. I thought it said something about a resemblance too.I didn't understand why Gavin got into the smuggling situation but realized that he wanted to distance himself from the Mackenzies. I didn't think they would get caught either.
I'm really looking forward to The Rook's book. The hints in the previous book and in the this one have me dying to know who he is. I wonder what his connection to Dorian is . . .
