This is my first time reading the book. I’ve seen both movie versions. I can’t seem to get John Wayne’s voice out of my head, baby sister!!😏
This is a book that can be enjoyed by people who like western novels as well as readers who normally do not like the genre.
I loved this book ... I've read it twice now. Recommended it to a local University Book Club a few years back and the English Dept faculty chose it. One of the best attended discussion groups they've had.
Margaret wrote: "Fascinating to read this after seeing both movie versions. Really enjoying it."
If I recall, the second movie adaptation was more faithful to the book than the first one.
