I read it 2or 3 years ago. It's chick lit, humorous. It's a series of books but I only read the first. I know she went to the house intent to sell, but stays to learn about her family. She finds out her benefactor that used to live there, used to care for all the animals that show up at the door with injuries. The guy might even be a werewolf.
