the story starts with the freak accident ( a big vehicle barges into the cafe), the bff dies saving the h, she and her then boyfriend survive.
Present day h comes to the town for a get together (also father has cancer), suffers an accident in the graveyard near her bff's grave, wakes up in a parallel universe where the bff is not dead, is a policeman and she is engaged to her prologue boyfriend.

It was a bittersweet book, and I remember most of the story but can't remember its name. Also the cover had a winter theme, snow etc..
