The druids have been around for millennia, so the virus crisis will not faze them. There is evidence that druidism originated in Britain, and that it then spread to continental Europe. It may be pre-Celtic. Doesnt Arthur look good in his resplendent robes?

Beatrice Williams | 2516 comments Can his name really be King Arthur Pendragon?

message 203: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments "Arthur Uther Pendragon (born John Timothy Rothwell, 5 April 1954) is a British eco-campaigner, Neo-Druid leader, media personality, and self-declared reincarnation of King Arthur, a name by which he is also known." (Wikipaedia)

His kingship is not recognised by the House of Windsor.

Shouldn't the ancient mythical rulers of ancient Britain be honoured not arrested??

message 207: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments The druids are highly regarded in Celtic culture for their resistance to the Romans. When the Romans invaded Anglesey (Mona), the druids heaped curses upon them, and when the Romans took the islands they slaughtered the druids.

When the Romans left Britain, the druids and the Welsh people cheered. They did not know that soon new invaders, the Anglo-Saxons, would arrive - and these would stay. Indeed they are still in charge today.

Chinese researchers have discovered a new type of swine flu that can infect humans and has the potential to cause a future pandemic.

However, there is no evidence yet that the disease, which is called the G4 virus, could spread from person to person. https://t.co/9hGUNNlwlM

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments Bernard wrote: "Good news .... the library opens on Monday!"

The method of acquiring books:
- Reserve books online
- Wait for call that books are ready for collection
- When call comes, slide down batpole, and rush off to library
- Pick up bag brimming with books

Hopefully the bag is recyclable.

A bat's wings can get very dusty. The wax keeps moisture out.

The global coronavirus pandemic has heightened our awareness that time is subjective. For people who enjoy working from home, the days have whizzed by. For others desperate to travel or visit a loved one, time has slowed to a crawl https://t.co/cWiyw9x8hs https://t.co/7sNbcc3nWc

South Korea's government used hundreds of drones for a spectacular display to thank frontline workers and encourage wearing masks and social distancing. The show was a surprise — officials didn't advertise it ahead of time in order to avoid large crowds. https://t.co/0y87crKSsi https://t.co/d6IV3McMdu

The Queen does get lonely. And also depressed from tidying up after her troublesome family. Timothy deserved to get that message from Her Majesty (via the lady in waiting).
