All kinds. I particularly like Mozart, (No surprise) Johann Strauss (I love his waltzes) Tchaikovsky (his ballets are beautiful). I also like Brahms Hungarian dances. Recently I have been watching a lecture course on opera. I like Verdi and Mozart's Operas best.

Elizabeth Faustina (ourladysthimble) Which Lauren Daigle songs do you like?

If you like Lauren Daigle you'll love Nichole Nordeman. I can send you some links to my favorite songs by her if you like.

Isabel (promise-of-god) | 618 comments Mod
Sure, if you would I would absolutely love that!
I love Lauren Daigle's "look up child",
"you say",
"trust in you",
and then there is a song I forgot what it is called but it starts out,
"I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough"
(maybe it's trust in you but I forgot) XD
Those are like my top favorites of hers but I have lots of others.

message 14: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Faustina (ourladysthimble) That one is called "You Say." XD My favorites are "Trust in You" and "I am Yours."

Okay, I'll send it in my next email!

Nice.

Really? I love music from those time periods that you mentioned! What specific ones do you like?

I also like classic, progressive rock, classic rock, bluegrass, smooth jazz, and some Christian.

I looked at them, and they are good, I am just not really into that sort of music, and I am not a huge fan of dark fantasy tones.
But thanks for the rec.

message 27: by Nicollette (new)

Nicollette Larner | 177 comments ok, I'm not really into dark stuff.
they have a lot of fantasy music too.
they have a song called knock, knock which is about Latin Mass and the church, there's even some Latin in the song.

Yes it can🤣

message 31: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments I'm definitely a nerd when it comes to what music I listen to... Lots of Classical music, mostly what I'm currently playing (so right now that would be Mendelssohn's violin concerto in E minor, Brahms Hungarian dances, and Bach partitas and sonatas). I also regularly listen to Gregorian chant and Sacred Polyphony. My favorites are the Benedictine sisters' Hearts of Jesus, Mary & Joseph album, Miserere Mei, and Palestrina. And I just listened to Mozart's Requiem Mass which is interesting because it's a bit of a blend between the two genres.

No I didn't! That is neat!!

message 35: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments Hahaha I guess we are Addilyn! I LOVE Blessed be St. Joseph. It’s my absolute favorite to sing around the house or wherever. I also really love The Blessed Heart and Oh Child of Beauty Rare. But of course I love them all soo much. I will definitely have to check out Faure’s Requiem Mass! And that’s soo exciting! I wish I could join the Shrine’s cappella but I don’t think it would work. My brother is in the schola though!
I was trying to decide whether I would want Mozart’s Requiem Mass sung at my Requiem Mass hahaha. It might be too dramatic 😂 The Lacrimosa is soo beautiful though. And even more so if you read the translation…

message 36: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments Oh also I’m case anyone didn’t know, you can find the pdf for that album online to see the lyrics!

message 37: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments No actually St. Joseph Shrine in Detroit! And I think you’ve converted me too haha: I’m listening to it right now. And they might have possibly sung this at a Requiem Mass I went to the other month but I’m not sure.

message 38: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments Yeah it’s an ICKSP parish that was started five years ago and promoted to a Shrine just last year. Yes, I love it!!!

message 39: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments Ok I will!!!

message 40: by Clare (new)

Clare | 51 comments It’s so beautiful!!! I’m definitely going to have to note that for my will about my Requiem Mass. 😜 I asked my brother and he said his favorite Requiem Mass is Durufle’s. Im going to listen to that next!
