Reading Community during COVID-19

Hi all
I have an idea brewing.

One of the things I love about readalongs is the online discussion bit, where we actually log on together and discuss the book. This is why I have a reading podcast too.

What do you think about an idea where people logged on at the same time just to talk about the books they've been reading? Just to connect? Are there already enough spaces for this or would a synchronous time have any appeal?

Hi Jenny- I’m not sure I have the technology to participate fully (or would be brave enough to speak up if I do☺️), but I would definitely listen in if you move forward with this fun idea:-)

I also probably wouldn’t be brave enough to speak up, but love the idea of another readalong and listening to people’s thoughts, or seeing them written. Reading is my refuge right now, as the situation in London is dire and I am vulnerable so am in isolation. Great idea, Jenny.

I feel this Fiona. Stay inside and be safe. I am here with in Houston with my two daughters. I am a teacher and trying to teach remotely to teenagers. My girls are in elementary and secondary school, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes once they begin their work.

I’d be up for this. I’m still working (more, actually) but my night life has pretty much been cancelled until further notice. I also enjoy readalongs.

Okay.. sorry to see these responses late but I’ll continue brewing. We have The Odyssey discussion this weekend and I will announce a few things after that.
