My review:

I gave up on this book halfway through. I was so annoyed with the characters and the storyline that I just wanted to burn the damned thing. And I would never hurt a book, so it was serious. But then, things changed.

I'm not sure exactly at what point it all became so obvious to me. I was here being annoyed at David Levithan's character, Dash, who spoke like a character from a Jane Austen novel instead of a sixteen-year old. And I was suffering from headaches thanks to Rachel Cohn's Lily, who was a despiteful, bratty, childish girl who acted half her age. And then I just laughed at the absurdity of these characters and tried to enjoy their story.

Truth be told, it was okay. Right around the middle, I started laughing at their unrealisticness and it was a fun book. Once I got past my annoyance, I actually kind of like the characters interacting with each other. I found a few positive things about them.

I know Levithan's writing and I believe he knew what he was doing with his character, even if I didn't always love it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this book wasn't for me, but it was still a nice read for me. And I'd recommend it if you like YA books set in the winter time.

I'd like to add to this some quotes I enjoyed. I think Dash was my favorite. I really learned to like him once I got past his obsession with being fancy. This has never bothered me before. I love words too but damn this boy took it to another level.

"You bookish little pervert."
"Thank you, sir!"

"I was attempting to write the story of my life. It wasn't so much about plot. It was much more about character."

So this was nice. Like I said, Dash was nice. I started to really really like him. And maybe I also felt bad for Lily. I just didnt really see the two characters together. I thought they would give up on the whole romance thing and just be friends, maybe cowrite a book or something. They didnt feel like a match made in heaven or anything. Lily was too stupid to see that but I think Dash knew better. Idk. I liked the last half of the book. And I liked Dash and Sofia's relationship. Their friendship was sweet. Also, Lily's cousin Mark was cool.
