Trip (shardsofromance) I'm not a fan of rereading as so many books on tbr and I tend to remember a lot. But I'd definitely enjoy talking with you both while your reading Lore, inrerested to see what think.

As I know there been many mixed feels on it, I'm one who enjoyed a lot and thought interesting read. But im easily pleased when it comes to mythology. Seen many who were disappointed about it 😂

I envy you! Librarian would be my dream job (after my nerdy job and my outdoorsy job) - too many fun things to do and not enough time ...

I'll let you know when I made it through the library queue.

I am looking forward to your input!

Trip (shardsofromance) Any chance up Iris (Mike Bravo Ops, #1) by Eden Finley for sometime? Maybe mid feb?

Remember talking about when Andrea and I read Pop Star back in 2020 and finally book here for Iris from Mike bravo team. While i still haven't continued with the boy bands ones😂

Aww, feel free too! Waiting to see if Andrea is interested though 😊 Eden Finley has been hit or miss for me, but has written one of my favourite books too so still want to try. Especially as adored Iris and Travis in pop star, so ive been waiting for this series a while. Hopefully its good xx

I have two more ARCs to finish, but then... I have a mountain of books I already bought to ignore 🙈 I forgot how hard working in a bookshop was. All the pretty books, tempting me all day long. Sigh... 🤣🤣🤣

Trip (shardsofromance) No problem.

Yay! Me too, he was amazing and sounds like a lot of fun 😊 Im thinking around 11th Feb if that works?

Oh yeah, i may be a little behind with arcs on netgalley... But hopefully soon and my pyhsical tbr cart is overloaded. Yet here I am still reading mainly from kindle unlimited 😂

I'm planning to not let my account renew in end feb, but i bet one those deals happen... So i will grab it.

Sure. Just remind me if I forget 🙈 I don't know if I want his partner to be just as... well. IRIS. Or more of a calm, balancing one. Both would be interesting 🤣

Me too! I feel Harley and Brix already gave a bit of that balancing act. So would be interesting to see Iris with maybe someone rather equally chaotic😂

You sound like you're living in my head. Instead of reading some of my netgalleys (and reviewing them *cough*) I swear I add two more ku's for every book I read :-(

Haha I'm with you! 😂 I've got ku downloads full at moment, as working through some series/backlist. But I have 11 arcs on netgalley, 4 already relased and the rest over the next few months... Im hoping to catch up on over february half term.

If we have any matching could buddy read maybe?

Lol I kind of had a run where I requested a bunch and didn't get any, then some I got really late like the day before or even after release for some. So strange 😂

I made the mistake of thinking wouldn't get many.

message 168: by Trip (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) Something Fabulous doesn't interest me, although I have got one my challenge picks this year to try Boyfriend Material. Seen mixed reviews from love to hate, hoping I come under the love side 😂

Sorry I'm not big on mystery either. I'm so picky...

I just received Body at Buccaneer's Bay (Secrets and Scrabble #5)
by Josh Lanyon, but now that I am checking on netgalley it's not there anymore (?!). I also notice that another one I already gave feedback to is still waiting for a review :-(
This said - I have Body at Buccaneer's Bay unread and (shame on me) 6 or 7 long time ago and several waiting for more of a review than "I liked it" (or not, very often not, which makes it so difficult!). I became more careful which books I request since they do not accept a mere feedback as sufficient to count as "reviewed" any mor. What to do with all those "dnf"'s?

message 170: by Trip (last edited Jan 29, 2022 11:45AM) (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) I've done a few dnf on netgalley, i just put honest review/feedback based upon why it didn't work for me and tried to highlight what was good.

Whether the setting, a plot or character I try to find something. And if nothing I just apologise in the feedback that wasn't for me, but others may enjoy for the reasons I didn't and etc 😂

message 171: by Heike (new)

Heike | 152 comments Oh - I just saw that Laura does not do Mysteries - then you probably don't have Body at Buccaneer's Bay. Okay, moving on ...
We should find something that we can do together.

Andrea, I am still waiting for Lore. Once I get it I have to make a grab and can keep it only for 2 weeks. Are you flexible there?

I don care much for historical settings for MM, but I will give Something Fabulous a try, I had mixed feelings about Alexis Hall's Boyfriend Material (loved the one guy, hated the other), but it's now on ku. Who can resist ku? 🤣

Laura - ku allows now 20 titles versus only 10 a year ago - still not enough? 😉

If I have to read one more book about racism and the likes, and being preached at what all is racism (which makes me sadly aware that I am a racist even though I thought I am not and where does that leave my world view?), then .... I don't know. I just don't touch them anymore 😎

Oh, how are you liking the Scrabble book? I already finished it a while ago.

I should be able to. I might not get much reading time during the week depending on how tired I am, but I should be able to finish Lore in 2 weeks without problems ^^

Oh yay!!!!! I don't know when I'll have time for Something Fabulous. Have to finish my ARCs first. And Ariadne. Sigh. So many books 😄 I'm hoping I can finish at least two books tomorrow. And I neeeeeeeeeed to start it. I hate waiting for it. I love Alexis Hall. His books always make me feel things, which I'm not happy about, but then, it's worth it somehow. Damn the evil genius. I'm hoping this one will be as OTT ridiculous as he promised. I need sth light and hilarious!

message 175: by Trip (last edited Jan 29, 2022 11:58AM) (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) Haha yeah only recently got the 20 limit on mine, definitely taking advantage of it at moment. Also in spell challenge for m/m so keeping an eye what fits best 😂

Oh me too! Andrea sort of converted me to historical m/m, with our buddy reads found some new favourites in that area.

Exactly Andrea!

These are my arcs, chaotic taste based on my mood. Also i am somewhat weak for a gorgeous cover 😂

Let's call it versatile :-)

The sifi romance would interest me if not for the f/f part. I am not quite there yet, but then I never thought I would enjoy m/m romance so much, so maybe, one day ...
The other books are ... eclectic ... I admire your courage 🤣🤣🤣

message 177: by Trip (last edited Jan 29, 2022 12:33PM) (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) Thats understandable. I'm been trying to branch out more with my reading since begin last year, so I wanted to give more a try and have enjoyed the ones read so far 😊

Although i still do gravitate towards m/m. So I'm glad you're able too enjoy those.

Haha yes, versatile is the perfect word 😂

I started a buddy read thread, but GR is being stupid and won't let me copy the link 🙄 If you go to the top of the page and click on Buddy Reads, you get to a list of all your BR, and at the top find one for Lore

Haha its actually a photo of me put through the prequel app so turned into a cartoon. It was for a book photo last summer, just awful lighting but I liked it anyway. Tbh someone else had mentioned on the original photo very intense look. I have awful resting face 😂

Trip (shardsofromance) Haha I've actually only got back into YA in the last year, hadn't read many since my teens 😂

I definitely feel my age with some of them, foolish decisions but mainly with contemporary. Fantasy I usually can handle, my main reason I avoid is the amount of love triangles in YA... Just no.

Also been a long time since I've tried a dystopian too and all of these books were picked as part of 12 books for year challenge. So I'm just going to give a try and see what happens 😂

Ah yes, the dreaded love triangle... hate those, too. I think the only time I was ever ok with one of those was in And I Darken, but only because it was a girl and her brother who were in love with the same guy ^^

message 196: by Trip (last edited Mar 18, 2022 01:17PM) (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) Lol I'd probably hate that even more, love triangles awkward enough. Even worse if the guy likes both of them and can't decide between siblings 😂
