Why am I forbidden to add the book cover?

The librarian note states:

Please do not add a cover image to this record. Failure to comply will result in the loss of your librarian privileges. Thank you! - The Goodreads Staff

I do not understand. When I originally added the book, I uploaded the photo I did of its cover. Now it is gone. I own that book and saw no problem with that. We can't do that anymore? What about old books whose covers are definitely not available anywhere on WWW?

Since the note was left by The Goodreads Staff, you will need to contact them directly to get an answer. I suggest you email them (support@goodreads.com).

That note is only about that book, it doesn't mean you can't add covers to other books any more. Those notes are added if there is some issue why that cover can't be added to Goodreads. (Legal issues or things like that.)

I guessed the same, still it confused me, because legal issues weren't mentioned in the note. Thank you for quick replies!
