Trisha, I didn't start today and I still have a few books to finish for challenges. I don't think I'll finish one challenge. Two of my grandkids came up from Southern CA and I ended up spending the morning babysitting while my daughter went on a job interview (and was offered the job today) and then I went to my other daughter's and visited with what ended up to being 9 of my 19 grandkids...they come first.

I'll past as soon as I actually start it.

I'm 53%, 15 chapters
it's a little silly so far - I understand it's point/purpose
but it's a little...obvious with it

Finally, I've started! I have too many others to read today to finish this one today, but I agree with you about this spoiler in all that you said. How can any parent (view spoiler)[berate their child so terribly, knowing that you are such a huge contribution as to who they grow up to be? AWFUL man!! Can you imagine a young child thinking her name is Damn Dammit Perri? Ugh... (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, I agree with you again. LOL Did you realize that this was a fairy-tale? We could have saved it for the genre challenge and gotten it read quickly. LOL

I love how Perri is so artistic and that she (view spoiler)[created these characters and this world that came to life. I have a good feeling with names like Stereotype and Perfection that this book is going to have some life lessons. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't know it was a fairytale either! Darn, if I'd remembered in time, I would have had us save it.lol!! oh well....

because instead of letting you get the message, it kind of beats you over the head with it! LOL

Lol True, but that's one reason I like reading books like this. If a book is good, I can refer it to students, grandkids, or whoever based on their likes and my judgment of the book.

Okay, back to this one finally. LOL I finished Ch. 10 but I don't know that I have much to say. Actually I have nothing to post really. LOL

I will say that so far my favorite quote is from Ch. 17: "That awkward moment when you meet a worm more intelligent than you are." LOL

It's "awkward" too how Perri (view spoiler)[fantasizes about Foster and even thinks of sexual things about him, yet she is (I think) getting revenge by casting her "spell" on him. I love when she says, "And thinking of sex inside a world of candy loving trolls and bespectacled bookworms was just plain awkward." LOL (hide spoiler)] Oh my, too funny!

Finished Ch. 15...I sure hope I can finish this before midnight! Ugh...the noises are driving my poor dog nuts! She's shaking, scratching at our bedroom door (we aren't in there lol), and panting. She wants to be right on top of us. She is always by me and follows me everywhere I go, everytime I get up or down, except when she's scared and then she wants my husband. Funny, huh?

Haha. I guess I digressed above and didn't post. LOL

I think that the past few chapters have really gotten good. I know there is quite a lesson here and it's a bit obvious, but it also seems to me that the lesson is written for both young and old(er).

These past few chapters are a bit heartbreaking to me. The Beast of Belonging is (view spoiler)[definitely a "real character" in real life. Oh my gosh! WE ALL want to belong and feel loved, etc. If we didn't have so many bullies like Perri's experienced, including parents, and everyone were loved and felt like the belonged as everyone should, life would be so awesome! I'd say "perfect" but that would seem a bit repetitive. LOL I'm glad that Perri felt proud of protecting them from the Beast. That was a powerful section in the book! (hide spoiler)]
