ABANDONED. YA? Middle? chapter book about a group of boys (like 4) who hang out together, but then they have a fight, and stop hanging, and then they reconcile.

I read this book between 2008 - 2018, and the only things I remember vividly is two scene: the first one was easier in the book and the 4 boys put firecrackers in a barrel, but one boy got to close, and the fire crackers went off in his face, blinding him, so another of the boys used his thumbs and gently wiped the soot from the other boys eyes so that he could see.
The other scene comes near the end of the book. all I remember is one of the boys, I think the same that was hit with a firecracker, is walking on a fence. He slip and tries to jump but end up falling onto the fence, right on his genitals. He gets off the fence and he is bleeding bad and his friends call the ambulance, and he is rushed to the hospital I think this is what gets them to be friends again?
One of the boys is the narrator, but I don't remember which one or how old they all are
One thing that is kind of fuzzy is I think they curse in the book? And says stuff like "nuts" and "hell"?
