Aimee, by Mary Beth Miller, is a captivating novel about mental health. It touches on anorexia and anxiety, and the phenomenal plot line punches readers with the truth about depression and the recklessness that often accompanies suicide. Because of the intensity of these topics, I recommend this novel for 14+ students. I enjoyed this novel because of how raw and real it is. It is told in the form of journal writing which allows readers directly inside of the mind of the main character, Zoe. It is intense and leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more!
