Vinthu looked depressed, as always. "Vinthu," Lantos, Vinthu's friend, called, "What's wrong?"Vinthu never answered the question truthfully. But it was obvious, he was thinking about his family. They had been murdered when Vinthu was at a store with his friends. No one ever told him who murdered his family, not even the authorities of Trueforge told him. They all said that they didn't know. Most likely because he was young at the time. But he didn't care. Why can't they tell me? He thought, what's holding them back?
"Vinthu," Lantos called again, "If you don't want to help buy food, then you can go back home."
"Sorry," Vinthu said, "Just thinking."
They were in the market, looking for food to take home. Lantos casually inspected some meat. "Thinking about what?" He asked.
"Nothing important." Vinthu said.
Lantos looked at Vinthu, concern in his eyes. Vinthu stared back. Just leave it, he thought.
The concern left Lantos's eyes
"You should go home Vinthu. I'll be back in a while."
Vinthu was about to reject, but just didn't feel like arguing. So he left Lantos, and started walking home.
Tisuu lounged in his carriage sipping on Flamewine. The best of its kind. If you're ever in Truefire, stop by Thano. He makes the best flamewine in all of the Elemental Planes. Then bump. That idiot carriage driver managed to find his way into a rock. His expensive wine spilled all over his....grrrraaaahhhh. He stormed out of the carriage to find a rod of metal lodged in the wheel. How did that even happen? It was almost as if he was in a book with an extremely awful writer who had no creativity. It wasn't long before it was removed. But then he saw something. A wanted poster. But it wasn't anything normal. Wanted for heresy and burning a forest down. Interesting... He pulled it off the wall and confronted a working man. "You, come with me." He ordered as guards pulled him into a carriage. He struggled but it was futile. When he was inside he sat and reached out a hand. "Greetings! My name is Tisuu Norus, Grand Councilor of Sand. What is yours?"
Vinthu was suprised. He was just walking home, and was suddenly being taken by this man, who called himself Tissu Noris, The Grand Counciler of Sand. He felt annoyed, angry and a little frightened by this sudden abduction. But he did not want to anger someone of high power. "My name is Vinthu," He said, "Vinthu Kur Syr."
Vinthu took the poster. Was this man crazy? Why would I want to join criminals? Vinthu thought. He looked at Tisuu. "Are you serious?" He asked. Despite being frightened by this powerful man, Vinthu did not want to leave his friends and, current family, to go and join some dangerous criminals. He had an expression between anger and curiousity. "Why me?"
"Because you were the first person I saw" he said, he seemed quite used to this whole thing, tired and a bit annoyed. "Look, everyone has a price, just name it and go."
Vinthu was considering. This man chose him because he was the first person he saw. Vinthu was so close to home. What would my family say? "What is the main purpose of this group?" He asked.
"They're heretics." He said "I simply want you to request an audience with them for me." He searched though his pocket and found what he was looking for. Tisuu pulled out a large Emerald.
He looked, wide eyed, at the emerald. "Is this the price I get for requesting an audience for you?!" He sounded incredulous. He could sell the emerald for loads of coins! "Of course, yes, I'll do it. But let me prepare myself and say goodbye to my family." He would try to come back as soon as he was done with the audience.
"You have 15 hours to get out of the city." He ordered. "They should be at the border to the Stonewilds by now." He then had his guards escort him from the coach.
Vinthu walked into his bedroom. Apparently no one was home. I'll just write a note. Hopefully they'll understand. He felt like he did not need much. So instead of taking all of his belongings, he only took some clothes and water. He started to write his note, trying to make it as short as possible. He was about to leave as he finished, then remembered about the sword he kept in his closet. Is it nessecary to bring my sword. I've used it before, but this journey does not seem like a reason for me to bring it. Maybe just to be safe. I don't know what will come upon me in this journey. Vinthu took his sword, then left quickly.
