Teodora | 359 comments Just finished the audiobook for Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows and I absolutely loved it!
I am now going to go on with The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2) by Stieg Larsson and also start If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio

message 52: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Ohhh I can't wait to see how you get on with If We Were Villians! It's on my TBR too!!

message 53: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I am a bit exited about it, I'm not gonna lie :)) I heard so many great things about it though

message 54: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I have too, hopefully it doesn't disappoint!

message 55: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments So, I just finished If We Were Villains and, honestly, I am not okay. It made me terribly emotional and I warmly recommend it to everyone who wants to read it. For me, it did the trick

message 56: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments So glad it was good!

message 57: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I'm still thinking whether to add If We Were Villains to my TBR or not. Is it too depressive? Or is it ok?

message 58: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Alright I've officially added it to my tbr. It sounds too good to pass up

message 59: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Jess, I don't think it is more depressive than a classic tragedy tbh. It is alluring, the atmosphere makes you part of the story, the characters get individualised nicely after a while so you'll have characters to die for and characters you could kill and by the end the whole dramatic mystery turns into a modern time Shakespearean tragedy. It made me sad, but it made me love it too so it depends how you handle it!

message 60: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Omg Britt, it really is too good to pass up! I needed a bit of extra attention at the beginning because there were so many characters, but then I couldn't make myself stop reading

Good to know! Lots of names means I'll probably need to read instead of listen to it

message 62: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments There are seven of them and each has their own personality trait like a role they play in real life so it might be confusing at first

message 63: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
I like the concept a lot!

message 64: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I've never been the biggest Shakespeare fan but I enjoyed this immensely and I just had an urge to read King Lear five years after I read it the first time and I actually enjoyed it more somehow :))

message 65: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I just finished The Girl Who Played with Fire and honestly I am still sweating! That has been a wild ride! And also, now I remember how much I love Lisbeth Salander, she's just the best!

I also started The Raven and the Dove and all I hope is to enjoy it!

message 66: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod

message 68: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Just finished The Raven and the Dove (The Raven and the Dove, #1) by Kaitlyn Davis and so I just added a new series to my list!
Even though I didn't love this, I enjoyed it enough to be curious for more so I am definitely going to go on with the series!
Now I'm starting Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson and I am super excited!

message 69: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I adored Sorcery of Thorns, hope you do as well!

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Decided to add If We Were Villains to my TBR (thanks to your good words about this book) and wait the right mood to come :D. Yeah, it took me a week to decide ~

Yaay
Omg this is such a good book, I can't wait to actually find the right words to make up a review for it! I fell in love with it, I wasn't expecting that, so I hope the right mood will find you soon! 😂

message 75: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments After about 400 excruciatingly boring pages I finished Season of Storms (The Witcher #6) by Andrzej Sapkowski and I honestly don't understand what that was. I haven't read a book this boring in over two years. Not pleased at all with it

message 76: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Oh no, that's no fun 😖 It's incredible you stuck with it for 400 pages though.

It took me 10 days but I did it and I honestly feel exhausted!

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
I bet! I hope your next read is much more enjoyable!

message 79: by Teodora (new)

That's great! I heard that book was fantastic! From what I've seen, it sounds like it has a very interesting premise. Happy reading! 😊

message 81: by Teodora (new)

 Teodora | 359 comments Thank you <3
It is amazing and it give off such Harry Potter(-ish) vibes, Slytherin-ish mostly! And the characters are so lovable!

message 82: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Sorcery of Thorns has been absolutely amazing! I loved the action and the world and the characters, omg, were to die for!

message 83: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Yay! I'm happy you loved it. It's been on my TBR for a while and now I want to read it more :)

message 86: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Ah yess it's been amazing!

message 87: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments It took me only two days to finish The Hating Game by Sally Thorne but I enjoyed it so much that by the end I was squealing! I'm not much of a chick-lit kind of girl but this one was really good!

message 88: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Sometimes a good chick-lit to break things up is just what is needed! Glad you enjoyed your last 2 reads.

message 89: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I loved the Hating Game so much! It was fast tracked to my list of books to buy to read anytime I'm in a slump!

message 90: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments @Brittany I really was in need for a good rom-com and the Hating Game did not disappoint but now I'm in a mood for more so I might pick up another one! 😂

@Heather It was so good it definitely surpassed all of my expectations! And it really kept my slump away, I'm thankful for that 😂

message 91: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments When I joined this book club, I had much less books on my TBR and my main genres were fantasy, sci-fi and nonfiction. But now I tend to diverse my list a bit. And I'm so happy with exploring new genres.
(Just added The Hating Game to my TBR)

message 92: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments This is actually my most stimulating book club and I honestly got to read so many interesting books from so many other genres. I had no idea I would enjoy the Hating Game that much but hey, it was great! Let us know when you get to read it!

message 93: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Glad we are helping you diversify! Which romcom style book are you thinking of next Teo?

message 94: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments So I've got the hate-to-love, goody-two-shoes-hate-loves-her-nemeiskind of style so now I started 99 Percent Mine just because it is by the same author and I'll have a different approach to things. I've decided to dig a bit into rom-com style books just to have a grasp on cute human emotions and insights. I feel like it will be my new little experiment!
Plus, those books that get heavier on the com but a bit nasty with the rom are absolute brain-holiday for me haha

message 95: by Teodora (last edited May 12, 2020 07:16AM) (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Okay so in the last couple of days I've been reading quite a lot of rom coms and it goes so smoothly well that I thought I don't want my goal for this year to be 45 so I updated it to 60. Now I just hope that I'll meet it 😂

message 96: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Woo! Good luck on reaching your increased goal! I think you will have no problems getting there.

message 97: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Glad you're finding reads that go so quick for you! Good luck on the increased goal!!

message 98: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Thank you! I think I'll be binge-reading rom com novels for a while so I want to feel the pressure of an increased goal. It motivates me better!

message 99: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Keep posting about the good ones you find! I am always happy to add a good romcom to my tbr!

message 100: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Duly noted!
For now, I just finished Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating and it was quite good, definitely not what I was expecting and definitely a nice, touching story! By the end, it was extremely sweet
