Woo! Welcome Teodora! Having a place of your own to keep track of books is always a great plan

message 4: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Thank you, Brittany! It's not much what I'm trying to achieve this year but now I have a visual image of that instead of keeping track in my head 😂

Yay! Welcome Teodora! It's never too late to jump in!

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Welcome! Some awesome series you have going!

message 7: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Thanks you guys! I just finished Ruthless Gods (Something Dark and Holy, #2) by Emily A. Duncan and I loved it! It's better than the first one, but it's waay darker and sometimes disturbing but it's been great!
Now I'm focusing on A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas , not too far in but I am super excited about it!

message 8: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'm so looking forward to Ruthless Gods!

If you liked Wicked Saints than this one is going to appeal to you even more! It has some kind of glow up to it

message 10: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments That's awesome! I really enjoyed the first book, so glad this one gets better and doesn't have that second book lull that some series suffer from!

message 11: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments It is a total mess, trust me, but it has something that made me read on and on and that's great!

message 12: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I just finished A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas and it's been great! Even though it wasn't one of SJM's best books it was still amazing, I totally enjoyed it!
I am definitely going to start A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas today and I've also started The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

message 13: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments A Court of Mist and Fury has been my favorite of that series (I've read the first three!) so hopefully you'll love it!

Heard great things about the Shadows Among Us - looking forward to seeing how you get on with it!

Glad you enjoyed ACOTAR! Would love to hear more of your thoughts on it. What did you like most? Or not think worked as well as you may have liked? I agree not her best work but enjoyable! I've heard book 2 is so much better.

Ooo Shadows Between Us looks good

I truly enjoyed it, I think it is the best reimagination after Beauty and the Beast I've read so far. I like the main character too and even though it wasn't like the rest of her books in intensity it was super enjoyable. But to be completely honest now, the best part of the book were the scenes where Rhysand appeared 😂 I mean, he really gave another type of movement to the whole action and I might already be in love with him 😂 can't wait for the next one! I actually started it last night but I was so sleepy I couldn't read more than 14 pages 😂 but today I will!

The Shadows Between Us is so far quite good! I really enjoy reading it and I think it is going to get better

With a 4.6 stars at rating I think ACOMAF is super good! I can't wait to cry again 😂

The riddle's simplicity drove me crazy in ACOTAR! And knowing certain things relationship wise from the start made it harder for me to connect with certain things. I like that it isn't like her other books. I loved Lucien.

message 18: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I hate riddles and I am super slow when it comes even to the simple ones but I read this one a second time and I was like "If the answer to this isn't [inserts the only reasonable answer I could think of] then I give up because I am terrible" and it actually was the answer and I felt better 😂
I can't really buy Feyre's relationship with Tamlin, he's somehow boring, but Lucien is precious, I really like him!

message 19: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Just finished A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas and I am OBSESSED at least! I feel like I was part of the Court of Dreams and I have laughed and loved and suffered with each one of them!
Now I am starting A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas !

Glad you are enjoying them so much Teodora!

I'll have Laura to thank for that!!

I don't doubt that! Rhys is so totally unreal how could one not love him?? 😂❤

message 25: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Finished The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller and even though I found it a bit bland and kind of simple in essence, I actually enjoyed the story and I've come to really like some of the characters that at first were shown to be totally repulsive, but I think that was the main idea

message 26: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Just finished all the books available from ACOTAR, including A Court of Frost and Starlight and I loved it! And that sneak peek at the end made me so curious to see what's about to happen in the fourth book!

I also started Hunting Prince Dracula, to continue with the series, and if anyone wants to launch in a discussion, I'd love that!

message 27: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6445 comments Mod
Nice Teodora! Glad you enjoyed ACOTAR so much!

Hope some people will join you for Hunting Prince Dracula in the series readalong. I can't get the book from the library and dont want to buy it so I'm out for now.

message 28: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I know I was supposed to read Hunting Prince Dracula in March but I got caught up in all that Sarah J. Maas multiverse that I couldn't bring myself to, but I'm on it now and I shall see who's with me for this one 😊

I hope someone joins as well. We will make sure to mention it in our April newsletter. Like Britt, I'm out for is as I'm trying hard this year to not buy new books as much and read the ones that I own and unfortunately I don't own those ones.

message 30: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I already got it on my tablet (along with many others!) so I am going to give it the chance.
Also, excited Romanian here, hi ✌
I haven't read a book inspired by a Romanian legend and set on Romanian territory, written by a foreign author (Dracula by Bram Stoker doesn't count 😂) so I'm somehow super excited!

message 31: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I just did Hunting Prince Dracula last month so I'll be happy to chat about it!

Also, speaking of Romanian legend.. have you read And I Darken? The trilogy is in my top reads of 2019!

message 32: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Oh that'll be great! I am barely 2 chapters in and I already feel like ranting because I have some mixed feelings about it so far 😂

I haven't read it yet but I have bought the whole trilogy and it waits for me to read it 😂

I've been wanting to start this too! I just need to find the motivation to do it 😅 As Brittany said, you can always add your thoughts to the thread here inside a spoiler tag so we can check them out!

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
🤣 uh oh. Did you enjoy the first book? I was pretty meh about it myself, soo I don't have very high hopes for book two. And now you saying this... Ooof. Lol.

message 38: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments What can I say about the first book is that I liked it. It wasn't something really wow, I just appreciated its uniqueness. I liked it because it was also so easy to read. It wasn't bad at all, but with this second one I'm going to be more alert, it's come to my territory 😂

Oh no 😂 Do keep us posted. I am very curious now! Lol.

message 40: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I would certainly do! 😂 but I think I might turn the whole discussion into what is Romanian accurate and what is not 😂 sorry in advance if I start turning this book in a history/culture and civilization lecture lol

message 41: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Just saw your comments on the buddy read thread and I, for one, am loving the history lecture so far!

message 42: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

I would not mind that actually 😅 Lol. It would be very interesting to see your take on things.

message 43: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I totally understand that this is fiction and I have nothing against it, I am super happy that someone thought of bringing this part of the world to everyone's attention, but I do believe that some things are hard to explain if you're not familiar with the culture (because we are deeply rooted in our history and culture) so I think it might be helpful if I'm bringing some explanation to what is going on there 😉

I can't get away with audiobooks but I love the Harry Potter audiobooks. Stephen Fry does an amazing job narrating these.

Teodora | 359 comments I honestly can't pay attention to audiobooks, I get terribly distracted and lost, but Harry Potter audiobooks are the something else, especially in Fry's narration!
