I sometimes wonder if the more confident in form teams..let the opposition get a head start ...as to give 'em a false sense of confidence.. wear them down...thus the superior team then unleashes their true power and smashes the falsely led weaker team to bits at the end!

Quite a few of these games do seem to play out in that way! :)

I have the opposite view. Now that we've got shortened quarters, I think the team the gets a few goals on the board early on has a better chance of holding on at the end. I would be very surprised if it's a tactic to let the other team get ahead.
