Book edition published as multiple separate installments?

What should be done if a web-originated novel is published in China as one book and in Taiwan as multiple installments? Should they be considered different "editions" of the same work, or should they be considered separate? Is it possible to enter a series as an edition?

Parts shouldn't be combined with the whole. They would be separate works. A series cannot be one edition unless it is all the books in one.
