Irene (wingdesilverii) Hey Julia, looks like ℱalynn ➜ Dɪᴅ I ᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴛᴇʟʟ ʏᴏᴜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴇғɪɴɪᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏғ ɪɴsᴀɴɪᴛʏ﹖ got you what you need to hear which is great. How are you doing? I have seen the Butterfly Project be pretty helpful for a lot of people....do you know about the part that says people can wear butterflys for you or draw them on you? The Butterfly works the same way, if it's on someone else you still kill it if you cut though. I will wear one for you if that would help.

Wow, thanks :D"

Absolutely, and I wouldn't mind at all. What is your favorite color and the place you tend to cut? I'll put it there in that color sharpie.

message 4: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Okay, left or right? *goes off to find the green sharpie*

message 5: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Okay, give me a moment and you will have your butterfly :)

Amanda | 51 comments Sorry I know you just kind of explained it but I don't understand what the butterfly effect is, so what is it?

message 8: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments Can someone give me some advice? I feel like a failure very often because I didn't go to a four year college, well technically I did go to one for like a week and had a panic attack freaked out and came home, I am now going to a 2 year community college, and the problem isn't that I'm smart because I am, not to sound cocky or anything, but I feel as if because I got to a community college currently I've messed up the rest of my life and I don't know what to do with it, it makes me question if I even want to live

It's a visual reminder of why you shouldn't be cutting basically. You are supposed to place the butterfly where you would normally cut and when you have that need, seeing it can help you stop. It doesn't always work, and it doesn't work for some people. You can also wear butterflys for other people.

You made a choice for what suits you, and look at it this way. You can always go back to college at a later date for something more than a two year degree. I don't think you've messed up at all. Sure, you didn't follow the socially approved path, but you need your own path sometimes. Sometimes staying with the herd isn't a good idea and sometimes consistently challenging yourself isn't a good idea.

Amanda | 51 comments Thank you! Usually I'm okay with my choice but sometimes I feel bad because it can be hard not to do what everyone else is doing, although I know it's okay, and I should make decision based on my individual needs and not what others think

Ariana (arianaragon) | 20 comments You're being a little too harsh on yourself hon. Though I understand what you are feeling 100%. I was having the same problem at the beginning of this semester, getting Bs and Cs when I've never gotten anything less then an A before and I thought I was a failure, then I realized- I'm growing up, the things are more tenuous and as long as I don't have a D, I'm on the right path!

message 13: by Ariana (new)

Ariana (arianaragon) | 20 comments As for the class with the D, I always say you must allow yourself to be defeated inorder to succeed. I've failed one class thus far, but it drove me to do better next time.
Just know we are ALL here for you and some of us could possible tutor you. Spanish, English and chemistry are my strong suits. cheer up buttercup

Ariana (arianaragon) | 20 comments *sorry for the numerous posts to you Julia!*
I am also catholic so I know exactly what you are talking about. God forgives you for like everything but sometimes the guilt you house just said there forever and you don't know what to do and just feel worse. In those times I just talk to someone else, rant almost. I cry and I journal.

Amanda | 51 comments I decided not to even go to prom, it's not that big of deal as you'd think but if you do really want to go I'm sure you can find a dress somehow! Usually a lot of girls who have older sisters, like in your case, have extra dresses and are willing to lend them out or sell them for a really good price! And if you can't find someone to go with but still want to go don't let that stop you! Go with a friend and just have a good time!

message 16: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments Julia, do you know what would make you happier? Like if you could list a few things do you know what they would be

Amanda | 51 comments What does bit lip mean? Sorry if I sound stupid but I just don't understand, and I have a dog too! I think dogs could be such a great way to turn a mood from sad to a little bit better at the very least!

message 18: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments Do you feel really overwhelmed in your life right now?

message 19: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments How can you tell me if I understand or not? And how can I understand when your not open to talking and taking advice, no offense but you seem to talk a lot and drown in your own sorrow but you will not reach up for any help, I understand that you feel your drowning but people are here to help and we are reaching out to you but the thing is you need to reach back and be open to advice and saving yourself, no one can save you except for you, we can help but you have to want too. I'm sorry if any of that came out harsh sounding I really didn't mean it too!!

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments Being on this blog Julia and being able to vent and talk it's a sign that you are willing for help, I hope you understand that and that you Are so much stronger than you realize!

message 21: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments Ok

message 22: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 51 comments I'm sorry Julia but usually people who feel as if they have "saved themselves" probably aren't cutting themselves, again I don't mean to sound harsh or anything

I agree, Prom isnt even that fun TBH. Its just a waste of 95 dollars to hang out with people you may or may not like, wear a pretty dress or suit, and listen to loud music while people rub there butts on each other.
Much more to life then that.
