If worldcat disagrees it is because there is an entire chapter of "The Beach House" following the last page of "Second Chance".

In this celebrated novel, Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison created a new way of rendering the contradictory nuances of black life in America. Its earthy poetic language and striking use of folklore and myth established Morrison as a major voice in contemporary fiction.
"Song of Solomon" begins with one of the most arresting scenes in our century's literature: a dreamlike tableau depicting a man poised on a roof, about to fly into the air, while cloth rose petals swirl above the snow-covered ground and, in the astonished crowd below, one woman sings as another enters premature labor. The child born of that labor, Macon (Milkman) Dead, will eventually come to discover, through his complicated progress to maturity, the meaning of the drama that marked his birth. Toni Morrison's novel is at once a romance of self-discovery, a retelling of the black experience in America that uncovers the inalienable poetry of that experience, and a family saga luminous in its depth, imaginative generosity, and universality. It is also a tribute to the ways in which, in the hands of a master, the ancient art of storytelling can be used to make the mysterious and invisible aspects of human life apparent, real, and firm to the touch.

Harlequin Presents #270

ETA: Actually your book may already be here:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
albeit very incomplete. WorldCat indicates that your book was a 1979 reprint of a 1978 edition, if I'm reading it correctly.

i turned that blank edition Alex found into your ACE, Edwina. Can you confirm that it has the exact same cover as the edition you linked to in message 57? including price and medallions or whatever? or would you mind uploading a cover pic for yours?

I'll upload a picture of my cover for comparison but would prefer you use the other cover as it's a cleaner looking copy. My 87 year old Momma was bed-ridden for a long time before she recently passed away and these old books of hers are in somewhat rough shape but bless her heart, at least she was still able to lay in bed and read up until the last couple months of her life. She loved her Harlequin's so much!

re 64: Oh, Edwina! I'm so sorry to hear that, you have my deepest condolences. Getting these old editions sorted can be a bit of a challenging task, but as librarians and bibliophiles, I think that's what we love the most about them. We'll go to as great a length as we can to put them in their own, proper place. :)

I really appreciate how everyone here has been such a big help with these books and I'm sorry if I'm driving anyone crazy with them.

And not at all! There's always something to do on GoodReads, you're just giving us a direction to go in. Thank you for helping us enrich the GoodReads database with the addition of such hard-to-come-by editions and information!

This is the Fourth Fawcett Crest printing December 1965. This couldn't have been printed in 1964 as it didn't win the Pulitzer Prize until 1965 and so wouldn't have that yellow imprint on the cover.
Someone might want to change that date.
The very first printing of this book was March 23, 1964.
Love when books have such detailed printing historys inside them. :)

for someone who does.
ETA: I believe this would be the case where, normally, we'd have the original edition and make the ACE for this one, only we don't have the original...
ETA2: In any case, that date definitely has to be changed, so
ETA3: I thought I had cracked the case when I found an ISBN-less 1964 Fawcett Crest edition... But it wasn't to be: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

The formula I figured out for what someone has done, is that they've taken the first legit numbers
0-373 then added either 10 or 100 plus the book series number then an X on the end. So, for instance if it is book number 32 then the created ISBN would be
0-373-10032-X and for book 132 it would be
0-373-10132-X. Whomever did this sure did make a mess of things :(
Here is the book with the correct
ISBN: 0-373-70762-2

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
Was published July 1974 with SBN: 373-01793-6
Is it correct to add a zero in the front of an SBN to create an ISBN ?

Please add summary from back cover:
Commitment--all her life beautiful Kate Churchill had managed to avoid it, diverting herself with second-rate men.
Her success as advertising and promotion director of a once- legendary New York department store was more than compensation. Or at least she'd thought it was, until Ben Austin, account executive extraordinaire, appeared on the scene.
He'd been hired to add a sparkling new dimension to the store's tarnished image. He took it upon himself to change Kate's life. Too soon she found herself in his arms. Too soon she found herself responding to the volatile heat of his passion. Too late she realized she'd met her match, that she was playing for keeps, risking her job, her future. . her heart.
Cover uploaded also, and please make a note that this is "A Candlelight Ecstasy Romance #185".

I think what you did is perfectly fine.

Fixed Month.

I'm not at all certain about the pub date, but I'll just leave it as matching Amazon.
Now you need a separate record for your edition with that ISBN:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Both editions with those ISBNs were on Goodreads, I'll add for anyone who cares.

Edited to add: Also this book should not say Americana. That series of books have completely different covers than Harlequin Presents.
