Dave Stranko | 4 comments Hi all,
This is a pretty rough description of the book. It is scifi and came out a few years ago. I cant remember the sequence of much of the plot but i do rememeber enjoying it.
Here a few of the aspects that i remember:
-There are robotic slugs roaming around dome encased cities that randomly test individuals and seize them if a nanoagent is detected
-Those that are seized come back with a weird body and very bad breath
-There was a assassination attempt on a mother and daughter, the mother dies but the daughter survives when her crash helmet severs her head from her body to protect it
-this daughter then has a new body grown from an infant and has her regular sized head attached to it as it developes
-most workers are clones and one guy has a problem with a new type of space-worker clones that have monkey tails

that's all that i remember for now any help with identifying this book is most appreciated

caracal-eyes | 134 comments Sounds like the purposeful-head-removal thing is a feature of spacesuits in Alastair Reynold's Revelation Space series, from what I've found so far. Can't tell if that's it for sure though, or which specific book it might be. There are also domed cities and clones.

Great! Glad you found your book (I've only read the shorter version).

Evan Howl | 1 comments He came out with a sequal, Mind Over Ship.

I forget which is which as well.

I recently emailed the author and he doesn't have plans for a 3rd but he is working on another novel!
