ABANDONED. Mystery novel read few years ago, from 1990s(?) by James Patterson(?). Married woman, husband separates while 2 kids away for summer, she gets mysterious phone calls & thinks she's being watched.

i believe this may be a james patterson book(although i could also be totally wrong) but i believe it is an older book, maybe published in the 90’s? I read it a few years ago. The plot that i can remember from this book, is about a women who is married and has 2 young kids (the kids are away somewhere for the summer, like at camp) and the husband separates from his wife while the kids are gone. The women keeps getting mysteries phone calls to her house and thinks that someone is watching her. She has a neighbor who is her close friend, and i think something happened with the neighbor like she was always faking an illness or saying she was always hurt and she’d go to the dr. for it and the dr wouldn’t know what was wrong with her, leading to believe she was faking it.? something along those lines. I remember the women, are main character, ends up taking tennis classes and falls for the tennis instructor, and i remember her thinking he was too young for her. Anyway, i hope this was descriptive enough and i appreciate any answers! Thanks for your help

This book that came up searching "novel" "phone calls" "tennis instructor" looks very promising! The Deep End by Joy Fielding. It was originally published in 1981.

The reviews mention the husband leaving her, the hypochondriac neighbor, the kids at summer school, the calls and the tennis instructor so hopefully this is it!
