Dragonslayer
question
Release Date and Identity of Sky

Did anyone else have this at their Scholastic Book Fair? Nobody seems to be discussing it, but I was able to read it after buying it at the book fair several weeks ago. It says here the official release date is March 3rd...
That said, I had the feeling that Sky was actually the brother of a certain dragon with too much fire, based on the fact that he had no fire, he came from the sky dragons, and a big red dragon with a scar was looking for him along the river. I was surprised there was never any big reveal of his identity and by the end of the book I had forgotten about that mystery. Did anyone else think he was the dragon presumed dead in a previous book?

Could be. I don't honestly remember the dragon that was presumed dead. My theory was that Sky had one skywing parent and one rainwing parent based on his vegetarian diet and odd coloration (like the rainwings) combined with the other characters seeming to believe he was a skywing. I'm hoping there will be a sequel with more details about sky's backstory. Sky may even come into play in the next main series arc for all I know.
I think that Sky is Peril's brother. I'll have to reread the first arc to see what was said about him then, but I think Scarlet says that Kestrel killed the dragonet with too little fire, but Scarlet has problems and she might not know the whole story. Or maybe Kestrel thought that Sky was dead, but he wasn't.
Either way, I think Sky being Peril's brother makes a lot of sense.

Okay, now that I've read this wiki I think him being Peril's brother does make a lot of sense. It's been three or four years since I read the original

I think Sky is Peril's brother because he doesn't have fire. It would make sense because he was just left by a stream I think. Also, when they Wren and Sky peeked through that whole in the mountain, I'm pretty sure they were seeing the dragonets of prophecy. Then Sky became scared when she say a red dragon (Kestrel). I'm pretty sure Rose is Prince Smolder's pet~ Flower too.
I bought mine from a scholastic book fair I went to with my friend.

Sky is definitely Peril's brother. Because I remember it being mentioned that someone threw Sky's egg of a cliff or something, Wren found it. Also, Peril did suck all the fire out of her brother, and we know that Sky has no fire, so I think Sky is Peril's brother.

He is obviously Peril's brother. Here's why:
.NO FIRE. Osprey said that Peril's brother had been born with too little fire and Peril herself had too much.
.WAS FOUND IN RIVER, NEAR MUDWING LANDS. Osprey also mentioned that Kestrel, the mother, was apprehended at Diamond Spray Delta after trying to escape with the twins. However, in book 1 where we learn this, Kestrel kills Sky outright, though Tui probably wasn't thinking that she'd get this many books.
.HE'S AFRAID OF KESTREL. When they spy on the 5 prophecy dragonets, and Kestrel enters, Sky recognizes her. In fact, so does Wren.
