Debbie (dashforcover) | 1219 comments I have a question about library practice on holds that is a technical detail not covered by policies and procedures. Can I post that here or is there another place in discussions where I can post it. I will say the answer may be of interest to others here as well. It's regarding holds with lots of people in line.

Debbie,

You can message me. In fact, I'll message you real quick!

Teresa | 255 comments Debbie, I agree. Looking at it like that, library returns are not worth the risk to people's health.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 767 comments As things get crazier, yeah.... everybody just stay home. We'll resort to reading books we own.
Also, the phonics books my kindergartener is almost out of? Available online! For free during the craziness! So, that's a win. :)
iseesam.com for anyone else needing phonics books.

Thanks for sharing! Have you guys been following any online storytimes? The County Library has one every weekday around 10:30 am. You can also follow the #cabinfeverstorytime. The Utah State Library created that hashtag to promote storytimes throughout the state of Utah.

Silly me, I forgot about that!

I'm in another group where we all moan about the inability to read all the books we own because we 1) are attracted to other books from the library and 2) keep buying more books. Some, now, might get a tad caught up. Except we can buy ebooks and audio books! Alas, no hope for the hopeless.

Mostly we've been doing the Brightly.com storytimes, because we can find them easily on YouTube on the tv. Facebook live is a little trickier device-wise. Figuring that out is on my to-do list.

Deborah | 184 comments Nothing like increased down time to make it so I could read more. I don't know if we are still doing this month's challenge. If so, I just finished reading Julius Ceasar by William Shakespeare. I really enjoyed reading the play, there is a lot of thought provocking themes within the story.

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1219 comments Maybe the April Challenge should be 'Read ... something'. ;-o

message 63: by JoAnn (new)

JoAnn (jladybug) | 144 comments I read Little Red Riding Hood Stories Around the World: 3 Beloved Tales, which included the Italian version. Red faces an ogress in this take.

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1219 comments I see the new due date on materials is May 1 and the City Library's new due date is June 1.

message 65: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 255 comments Things are changing every day. Today I received an email from the city library that they are closed until Sep 1. The app says closed until further notice. And due date is June 1, lol.

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1219 comments I noticed the same thing. Must be a committee deciding with different members directing different individuals to enter different things. I just smiled, remembering my days with library committees.

Don't forget, today is the last day to say what you've read that somehow relates to Rome. We will do doing a prize drawing, but we'll do it when the libraries re-open to the public.

Let me know if you've finished the challenge!

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 674 comments The library has been a steady presence; we've visited the library every week for 20 years. It's disconcerting to be shut out. I'm grateful for digital loans!

I'm glad you are still using our digital content. :) Have you been following our other social media? We've been posting videos, storytimes, escape rooms, etc.

Where do you find the other things like the storytime? I think my granddaughter would like that.

Hello Linda,

If you follow our FB page, most of our digital content is posting there. I think we're also posting some items to twitter, but I know that a lot of the other types of videos are being posted to our FB page.
