ABANDONED. Older book (maybe published in 50’s) about a girl who makes clothes and becomes a fashion designer

I read it in the early 90’s at after school camp. It’s not Maggie in Fashion. I have that one. Maybe the girl went overseas? I remember when I read it it seemed like an older book: hard cover, no picture on the front but maybe some embossing. I know it’s a long shot to ask but I literally think about how much I liked that book and how sad I am that I never knew the name of it every couple of years or so. I was going to write down the name
But I never went back after I had read it. 😔

I don’t remember much. It was definitely fiction and in an urban setting.

Might be Flair for Fashion! The cover looks the right type and seems familiar. I’ll have to see if I can find a copy to know for sure.
